lebron basketball iq is up there with his athleticism

both without peer now and likely all time

shit like that is mentioned for other players like say tom brady

lebron is mostly known for his physical presence on the court though

but he remembers whole sets of scenarios and the contexts

his intelligence should be highlighted more

Isaiah Thomas alluded to this, even though it was sort of a shot at MJ. He basically was saying he will take Bron every time because he's head and shoulders above everybody else mentally not just physically.

With him coming out of high school he basically never had a great basketball mind to mold him into this amazing player. Isaiah believes everything he knows Bron learned on his own.

Every coach he's had were either rookies or had little success prior to Bron.

Spo started in 08 before Bron arrived

Mike Brown, Lue and Blatt all started in Cleveland.

Bron has taken 4 coaches to the Finals.

MJ had Doug Collins (ehhh), Dean Smith at North Carolina and of course Phil Jackson. Isaiah argued MJ got his knowledge from elite coaches, Bron didn't.

this quote was from lebron on him being a coach killer

"What do you guys want me to do? Turn my brain off because I have a huge basketball IQ? If that's what they want me to do, I'm not going to do it because I've got so much to give to the game."

this dude is hilarious ive never heard someone complement themselves like he does -- he doesnt just have a high basketball iq its HUGE -- but yeah great basketball comes with the high iq of the player -- one of the biggest winning attribute to winning games is decision making and strategy

lebron is at his best mentally -- hes never been better at seeing the floor -- defense, yeah he was so much better in the past -- hes more wise and a better leader than ever though -- bron in 2013 was at his undisputed peak -- it was ridiculous how explosive he was -- mentally hes more intelligent, mature and stronger than ever -- physically he was his best in miami

hes gonna be able to play basketball till hes 40

hes going like kareem (unless serious injury intervenes)

Nah homie relies a lot on his athleticism, size, agility, and quickness all those things fade drastically by that time.

Dude is 6'8 easily around 265-270 pounds or better. Basically the same size of a prime Karl Malone.

He is one of those smartest players in the game I agree, but his athleticism is waning a bit already and I expect it to continue to as he gets older.

LeBron's scoring relies heavily on hard drives to the basket and exploiting smaller guys with size and strength and bigger guys with agility and athleticism.

His jumper is improved, but not as reliable as some other greats that played late into their 30s.

The Kareem comparison does not match from the standpoint that post players don't have to rely as heavily on lateral quickness, jumpshooting, and perimeter defense which all tends to fade as you get older. Most of the guys who played in the league around 18-20 seasons or more were all post players (ex. Kareem, Duncan, K. Malone, Kevin Willis).

Dude already been in the league 14 years and been to Finals 7 straight times eventually all those long playoff runs are going to take their toll. Impressive as he is he's human.

again?

before the series started i told myself if lebron beat these dudes im ready to entertain a GOAT conversation

but if he lost

that i was digging into my 2011 irrational bag of slander

and i dont care if that makes me a child

are you trying to use a reaction image from a screenshot of a youtube video that you paused? or do you feel as Biggie did when he spoke on Pac's death?

One of the best things about this series is the Kyrie vs Klay matchup they really going at it on every possession

Klays defense and commitment is second to none but you cant really do much when dude goes off

the Cavs been giving Draymond the Harrison Barnes treatment, they been giving him wide open shots while trapping Steph/Klay and he barely making them pay.

add in the foul trouble and he really been average all series. Love has easily outplayed him in these finals

If draymond could only make threes other than the top of the key

GS should trap Kyrie off of picks but nobody else

Take Kyrie out the game. They let him go 1 on 1 and Javale/Zaza too slow helping

David West should get most of minutes between the bigs for the rest of this but Kerr probably too stubborn

thats the big unknown

history tells us that the great athletes dont age gracefully — more often than not the wheels come off in a hurry but maybe lebron is the exception to the rule — where if he declines slowly and steadily he could remain an elite nba player for another half decade

on the other hand maybe all the playoff games and minutes and the burden of carrying teams catches up with him all at once and hes done in two years — kobe tore his achilles when he was 33 i think — prior to that injury he looked like he could go strong for several more seasons but he was never the same after that and other injuries just kept piling up

its a little similar to whats happening with tom brady — were not used to seeing a qb play this well at his age — so where and when does it stop? — several more years of slow decline or does everything fall apart all at once like what happened with manning and favre

should be interesting

@Trillfate did you pay for courtside seats?

Someone will be sitting in the most expensive seats in NBA history on Monday night in Oakland.

A person paid $133,000, including fees, for two floor seats to Game 5 of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena to possibly see the Golden State Warriors win their second title in three years.

Dude takes care of his body more than athlete I seen since Terrell Owens. You can't really compare him to previous athletes. I think he'll go down in the post when he slows down.
