It's called Recency Bias my friend. It's amazing how easy people forget something because another thing that is new and shiny has come along. Magic Johnson was one of the most unique NBA players in the history of the game. Their has never been a player to come close to being what that guy was (6-9 point guard who could score, board, set others up perfectly and not be a liability on defense) and he won the same amount of championships as Kobe and Timmy in less years.

The guy played 12 and some change seasons and won 5 championships and put up the gaudy numbers to match the wins.
