Xhaka and morata and another center back and Arsenal are title challengers

Unlikely to happen now that Mourinho is managing manure. He would probably prefer Mourinho but arsenal would be the better team as he would be the centerpiece. Özil would feed him passes all day.

Another thing is Mourinho will have at least £200m to spend this summer. He would easily dash £60-£70m at Juventus for his services. I couldn't see Arsene FC dropping more than £45m. Close to fifty at most but not over.

He's not signed. It's flip flopping. One day he's signing the next he isn't. Anyways I wouldn't worry. The fact that we got a new GK already has me incredibly optimistic. We now need Pacey wingers, a replacement for Sakho and Skrtel who's leaving and a better LB.

Just read we got Loris for 4.7 million. That's a steal!

One of the Top3 best keepers in the world IMO, Ive raved about him for years... If we lost DDG he would be my favourite choice to replace him...

I heard Liverpool signed some other keeper though...

Edit: I just realised its not Hugo Lloris

Louis van Gaal issued the following statement at 20:30 BST this evening (Monday 23 May)...

It has been an honour to manage such a magnificent club as Manchester United FC, and in doing so, I have fulfilled a long-held ambition.

I am immensely proud to have helped United win the FA Cup for the 12th time in the club's history. I have been privileged during my management career to have won 20 trophies but winning the FA Cup, which is steeped in so much history, will always be one of the most special achievements of my career.

I am very disappointed to be unable to complete our intended three-year plan. I believe that the foundations are firmly in place to enable the club to move forward and achieve even greater success.

I hope that winning the FA Cup will give the club a platform to build upon next season to restore the success that this passionate set of fans desire.

Having managed in Holland, Spain and Germany, I had always hoped for the opportunity to manage in English football and be part of English culture. Both of these experiences have lived up to expectations and been fantastic.

I thank my players and wish them well for next season. It has been a pleasure to work with them and it has been particularly rewarding to see so many young players take their chance to break into the first team and excel. I look forward to watching the continued development of these young players next season.

Thank you to the owners and board of Manchester United for giving me the opportunity to manage this great club.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the amazing United supporters. They are truly the best fans in the world.

I am indebted to my support and coaching staff, who have given me their all during their time at the club.

I am deeply grateful to each and every member of the club’s staff - the sports science team, the medical team, the kit and laundry department, club administration, the press office, the manager's team, the Academy team, ground staff and the catering team, both at Old Trafford stadium and Carrington training ground, all of whom have given me their unwavering support in my time at United. Never in my 25 years as a manager have I been so well supported in my role.

Finally, my special thanks go to Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton for always making me and my family feel so welcome throughout my time as Manchester United manager.

60-70 for Morata?  You guys can have him

I'm saying tho. If there's rumors of Arsenal having to drop £50m on him, how much you think Mourinho would be willing to drop in a bidding war? Mourinho will spend big. He'll even put them on a really high wage.

Hearing also that R.Madrid got a buyback clause and they would want at least £39m for him. Like I said, I couldn't see arsene offering more than 45.

The Euro cup is next month. Real will need at least €130m to spend on a couple of players. They'll take the highest bids.

United has unlimited funds.

Read at work that Abemuyang (sp) and Ibra both told Utd they won't join while LVG is here. Same with Carrick, he told them he won't sign an extention if he's there.

Main reason we sacked him was fear of a player revolt.

Former Italy midfielder Andre Pirlo said that U.S. players are not taught technical skills at an early age and that ultimately affects the quality of play in Major League Soccer.

The 37-year-old, who is in his second season with New York City FC, said that more needs to be done at the youth level to bring professional soccer in the United States on par with Europe.

"It's a very hard league to play in. It's very physical, there's a lot of running. So there is a lot of physical work and to me, in my mind, too little play," Pirlo told Reuters at a MLS promotional event. "What I'm talking about is actually a system or culture. I don't mean that the level of technical skills are low. I just mean there is a cultural void that needs to be filled."

On Monday, Pirlo and Toronto FC midfielder Sebastian Giovinco, along with Mario Balotelli, were left off Italy coach Antonio Conte's 30-man squad for the second phase of preparations for Euro 2016.

Former AC Milan and Juventus midfielder Pirlo said that Americans who play soccer at college are already behind in terms of their development when compared with European peers. He stressed that youth training in Europe also includes technical skills.

"They pick them and they train them in much more than just running," he said. "They train them in stopping the ball. Here that doesn't happen.

"So when a young man becomes a professional in the United States he still has some gaps that need to be filled when playing on the field," he said.

Pirlo said he was pleased to see the progress made at NYCFC, which entered the MLS last year.

He praised the work of coach Patrick Vieira and his teammates, incluing Spanish striker David Villa and former English footballer Frank Lampard.

Pirlo said Vieira, the former Premier League star and World Cup champion for France, has made a significant difference to the team's performance this season.

"We are very happy with what he is doing. We are working hard every day, and he is bringing in new things that we are learning," said Pirlo. "There is a lot of hard work, both tactically and technically, as well as things that haven't been done before. The team is really improving and seeing excellent results."

Meanwhile, the Mail suggested Guardiola's City could consider a shock move for Leicester striker Jamie Vardy and reported that he has a clause in his contract that allows him to move to (other, as we now know) clubs in the Champions League for £20 million.
