People probably would like at me crazy if I would say this outside of this thread but I would be more happy when an African team wins a World Cup than if the US won it.

they always so close to reaching the semi finals, but loose focus along the way. USA came close in 2002. they played Germany well in that game. Young boy Donobitch had a good WC debut.

Relied too much on oil. Lots of Venezuelans moving abroad now to Miami, Houston, Caribbean etc

Also a main problem with African teams is that politics and money gets in the way. Like with Nigeria in 1998. They had one of the best teams in that World Cup. Politics and money got in the way and they got smoked by Denmark in the second round.

As per Stuart James of the Guardian, Arsenal have met striker Jamie Vardy’s release clause, while PFA Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez will likely draw some high-profile suitors throughout the transfer window.

Kante to Chelsea I like but certainly these players playing for Leicester in Champions League is better than just rushing to other teams.

whats thsi Vardy to ARsenal? bleacher report

Arsenal have triggered his release clause of £20million. Ranieri's confirmed it too.

And there was me hoping that Leicester would have been able to keep their team together and build a dynasty. If he signs for Arsenal considering Leicester dragged him out the lower divisions then it'll reinforce the fact that footballers really are disloyal mercenaries by nature.

You have a point there and I was hoping Leicester could keep their team together too... The thing is, if Vardy leaves I reckon they will end up losing most their team... Would Vardy suit Arsenal's style of play???

The thing is Vardy is what 29??? I would like to see Leicester stay together for anyother year, but Vardy at nearly 30 hasnt got THAT long left at the high level has he??? Can he afford to stay another year??? If he has a bad season chances are he will never get a 'dream' move... IMO he is a player that relies on pace, and that is normally the first thing to go...
