Yeah... It happened.

just caught up with season 4

*love the 3 year time skip, means we'lll get to see alotta development with the whole cast (for example, Kai doesn't seem like a piece of shit anymore)

*Im glad the fall of the Earth Kingdom is being significantly felt. It really shows how bad TRUE ANARCHY is and why it isnt the best course of action for any society.

*I hope Kuvira isnt the Big Bad for this season. Yeah what she's doing is extortion and its fascism but IMO she has good intentions and honestly, she's getting results/doing good by the people (as of now at least). If she is the big bad, I hope she's redeemed (other than Zuko, not one avatar villain has been yet).

*also glad that the show is tackling PTSD.....very rare are protagonists of any media shown to have long term reprecussions for all the shit they go through =.

*MOTHERFUCKING TOPH BEI FONG IN THE BUILDING

*Korra would beat Aang. Sorry guys but all of her opponents so far have been better benders than most of the opponents Aang faced, which is really due to the the fact that alotta bending secrets were made public after the Fire Nation War ended (for example lighting bending was a very high level technique that only masters could pull off, now everyday skilled benders like Mako can do it).

EPIC!!! This episode was amazing. I assume Raava is trying to get Korra to snap out of it and face herself/fears, something Aang had to overcome as well. Finally Toph has made an appearance. Nice way of saving the best for last.

i wonder if sokka is ever going to make an appearance. or did they throw his ass to the bushes lol. then again hes not a bender so i guess hes too irrelevant story wise

LOL Fuck Sokka. Nigga couldn't bend, couldn't sword/spear/fist fight, or plan an invasion worth a damn.

Only thing he was good at was throwing a boomerang and he lost it, then lost his space sword in the finally. Then there was this...

I disagree with Korra would beat Aang statement. You are comparing Aang at 13 to Korra at age 18-20. If we go by feats alone, during Aang time period metal bending was created, blood bending was put in use and the removal and gaining bending abilities was mastered by Aang.

Aang could just take away her abilities since he is the only avatar who knows how to do that. What she going to do, go into the avatar state and ask Aang for help to get her abilities back like she did in season 1.

1. By now, Korra is no older than 19 and that's because of the 3 year time jump. And if we make her Aang's age, she still has mastered 3 elements to his 1 element. Remember, ATLA happened over basically 1 year.

2. Aang learned energy bending from a damn lion turtle so there's no need to minimize Korra's energy bending. If Aang can do it, so can Korra.

there's no point in comparing the two since they're the same person, but the villains Korra has faced are >>>> than what Aang had to deal with. Metal bending was created by the GOAT Toph, but as you see there are several master metal benders now and even lavabenders have made an appearance. Aang never had to fight Toph while she used her metalbending. Bloodbending was used by Hama, but Hama couldn't even mess with Katara..Compare Hama's bloodbending to Yakone, Amon and Tarrlock's..that's right there's no comparison. One gets taken out by a child while the others can bloodbend a room full of people without even moving. Energybending wasn't something to master. It was an ability the lion turtles used to give regular folks bending. Now that Aang has it, so does Korra..she just didn't know she had the ability at the time. She was able to use energy bending to become a blue Voltron in the second season finale

Aang could just take away her abilities since he is the only avatar who knows how to do that. What she going to do, go into the avatar state and ask Aang for help to get her abilities back like she did in season 1.

Well Aang isn't the only avatar who knows how to do it since Korra can do it as well. How would that work anyway? Aang is going to take away his own powers? That first season was meant to be a stand alone series. M&B went out of their way to show that Korra had a hard time connecting to her spiritual side. If she could've accessed her other lives like Aang, she would've known that she never lost any of her bending, they were just blocked by whatever Amon did.

I will say this though, Korra would've beaten the shit out of Ozai even with just the 3 elements at her command. She wouldn't have needed to enter the AS, but hell Aang didn't have to enter it either. He was just a pacifist whereas Korra has no problems killing folks

I meant more of Aang being Korra age versus she being his age. Korra had the benefit of knowing she was the avatar sooner than the previous avatars. I think they usually don't tell them until they are 13. By 19, Aang had mad fights and adventures.

Yes Aang learned it from the lion turtle and without her tapping into the avatar state to get that knowledge from Aang she won't be able to use it.

You are right they are same person, I was just commenting on that what if scenario if they were able to battle without using the avatar state who would win.

With the amount of metal benders in this universe, I'm sure Aang learned and fought multiple metal benders.

Aang fought yakone father who was a blood bender and easily defeated him.

Fire lord ozai and Azula during sozin comet was extremely powerful and would have defeated both yakone and tarrlock.

I was basing the fight off of 13 year old Aang vs. 16 year old Korra as these ages are what we have the most material to reference from...Anything Aang does after ATLA ends is mostly speculative just as anything Korra does before TLOK starts is also..

IMO based off where Aang was during ATLA and where Korra was as season 3 ends.....Korra wins. All her opponents were in a completely different echelon than Aangs, with Unalaq/Vaatu being the biggest example. Shit Red Lotus wouldve DESTROYED the Gaang and thats with Toph included.

I cant stand Korra though. Whiny bitch.

I like the fact that Korra is a very conflicted person. Shes a realistic protagonist. She associates being the Avatar with essentially all of her self worth, so whenever she feels she's failing at doing her job, it mentally destroys her. That's real shit.

Plus it sells the fact that all the Avatars are different people. Aang was known for his gentle, carefree nature. Roku was wise, but tried to do good by everybody which ultimately is what got him killed. Kyoshi was fucking ruthless. So on and so on...
