phil. he got 11 rings and kobe got 5 rings.

True but I was making a point. They went for the one who could rap and make hits against the one who can't. Jay was the one who rapped and made the hits. Dame was the one who director and managed him. Lyor and Kevin said "we can do that why do we need Dame".

IDK. We've never seen Phil win w/o elite talent (MJ/Pippen, Kobe/Shaq, Kobe/Gasol) & MJ, Kobe, Shaq, etc. never won shit until Phil was their coach.

I guess biggs would be tex Winter (the dude who taught Phil the triangle offense)

True but when Lakers traded Shaq over Kobe because of his age. They also go ride of Phil. Kobe and Phil didn't get along then. Jerry Buss had to pick one and he took the guarantee thing ( younger Kobe) over in his prime Shaq and at that time 9 time nba champ phil jackson. Shaq didn't have much left in a few years and Phil and Kobe had to eventually squash their beef to work together again. The point I'm trying to make is that Lyor and Kevin went for the guarantee thing (Jay) over the uncertain thing (Dame). Their was no guarantee that Dame would find another Jay. But their was a guarantee that Jay would be Jay.

Yeah. I remember in 09 b4 BP3 came out XXL did a cover on Jay about BP3. In the interview Jay talked about how when they went up to Def Jam offices to talk business that often it would break out into a Def Jam brass (Lyles, Cohen), etc. vs Dame argument and they would basically leave w/o getting anything accomplished. Then Jay said he would have to go back to smooth things over and basically be like "What Dame meant was blah blah blah...what were trying to do is blah blah blah". They could see the strain it was causing b/w Jay & Dame & that Jay was getting tired of it. They probably started pissing Dame off on purpose just to keep the shit going but Dame was so blinded by his dislike for them niggas he couldnt see what they were doing...or maybe he did & said fuck it.

U right i got the magazine right here. Also Just Blaze said that. Jay spent a lot of time cleaning up Dame's messes as well as rehiring motherfuckers Damw would fire. The thing i believe is that Dame harbored resentment at those guys due to the fact that they shitted on Jay and Dame hard when they were looking for a deal. And only came around after Roc A Fella became something. As far as Dame saw Def Jam needed them more than they needed Def Jam ( which is true). So Dame prolly expected Jay to feel the same way as far as we gon use them motherfuckers for what they can offer us but as far being cool with them..... fuck them. But over time they prolly got in Jay 's ear and told Jay it was best for his future to bounce from Dame as Jay started to see himself.

But Dame was right in the long run. There's a reason Jay-Z isn't still at Def Jam. They didn't dump him and they didn't force him down from being President of the label. He left them because they wouldn't get behind his project. Everything going on with Live Nation/Roc Nation/Blueprint 3, Jay wanted to do at Def Jam and they didn't think it would work. They're a bunch of morons.

he was the snake ... he ran to lyor and kevin and played his boy ... its clear .

We dont know what happened in those meetings. But I do know Lyor was one of the main influences to separate Jay and Dame. Dame rode hard for his artists but im guessing jigga didnt think it was good business sense to continue fucking wit Dame, when it looks like all he did was piss people off all day.

And Dame pulled the same deal with Beans(according to him). He brought Pro-Keds from Sig and sold it behind his back.

The Lyor part was the most interesting part. It showed that Jay, Dame, Biggs were rich but Lyor was wealthy. For Lyor it was a no brainer who to side with.
