when wayne was 29 he had countless plats under his belt and broke records.....

when jay was 29 he was still yet to drop the BP (he was still on vol 2)...Jay was 31 when he dropped his best album

Weezy got many years to go and many plats to get....

No.... the most was for Kingdom Come and that was around 700k .... but his albums don't fizzle out after a week or two. He's sold over 50 million as a result of people consistently buying his CD's as the week's go on.

No. But he still sold more records than Wayne, and it's not even close, even with 2 albums selling a mil in a week

LOLOL

If Weezy play his cards right he can outsell Jay by age 40, I wonder if Hov will still be alive by then... hmmm.....

LOL

well i dont think he will outsell jay cuz of the download era.....weezy has come to "fame" in a time where the consumer dont have to pay

but he could sell a lot....and people will take in account the era he came up in, when judging his sales

that was a just a commentary on his career stats .... he's been a consistent seller. plus, Kingdom Come and other albums were during the download days too. 2006 wasn't long ago. Napster was going strong in 2000.

downloading grows stronger with each year, noway was downloading as prevalent in the early 00's than it is now

the music sales have dipped overall with each year...

internets gettin faster, there is more access to music from different avenues online, album leaks....

for Wayne to sell close to a million in a week is nothing short of amazing in the current climate, even artists like Beyonce are struggling and have seen better days

If Wayne can keep doin this for another 4 years, he'd have a got tally of sales....Carter 4 will have a direct effect on his past catalogue as well

It is a feat .... I don't think anybody is taking away from that. But downloading was pretty bad back then too. 2006 is when it picked up steam because that's when all of the z-shares and such started popping up. It's gotten worse, true, but it also had its own impact then too.

If Wayne can keep it up, good for him. The industry can definitely use more artists that actually sell.

weezy first week worldwide sales were not good as i gather

but i think with all the free promotion about sales he's gotten in the news i think he'll sell more worldwide in his second week, and obviously sell less in the US

the chain effect.....weird how things work out
