The flaw with these diss records was that Jay-Z was the one who rapped them out. Three diss songs aimed at people he dickrode at one point in his career, by using their classics to give himself credibility in hip hop and catapult his fame. Nas & Mobb Deep came up on their own fame and talent, did Jay-Z?

In "Takeover", Jay-Z dissed Nas & Prodigy. On Reasonable Doubt he sample Nas & Prodigy for his best songs. He bit rhymes from Nas on "Never Change" & he bit Prodigy for "Ballad of Fallen Soldiers".

In SupaUgly he called admittedly slept with a known whore whom he knew slept with Nas & Allen Iverson. According to her, their relationship lasted 5 years and he was trying "wife" her. That diss fell apart because he acts so hood but he Dry-snitched on A.I. & his mother made him apologize. It gotta hurt that his mom is Nas' favorite rapper.

& "Blueprint 2" was the icing on the cake. Jay-Z calls Nas out as a hypocrite, but he overlooks his own hypocrisies. "is it black girl lost or shorty owe you for ice?" Better question: Is it "Excuse Me Miss" or is it "Fuck All Nite". Are Prodigy & Nas garbage or are you biting their rhymes on the same albums you dissed them on? You call Nas a hypocrite because he's "the rap version of TD Jakes" or because allegedly he doesn't donate to charity like Jay-Z does. Jay-Z talks a lot about how he donates to charity in 2002, but in 2006 on Kingdom Come he was singing a different tune on "Minority Report":

Everything he says makes is foolish. I remember he said "I heard motherfuckers saying they made Hov Made Hov say, Ok so, make another Hov" like it was impossible. He acts like Dame didn't sign any other artist to make multiple multi-platinum albums *Cough Cough* Kanye West *Cough Cough*. Jay is the epitome of overrated.

Jay indeed does have consultation for his financial ventures, but that doesn't mean he isn't any less smarter for seeking these people out and taking their advice.
