DOA was a publicity stunt and a typical hater move by Jay Z. he tried to use autotune on bp3 but he sounded like a camel that stepped on a landmine so he scrapped the idea. He had no other lane to fall in when he was gearing BP3 up. that shit was supposed to drop in July 2008 but that weak ass Jockin Jay Z single had no buzz and he couldnt think of any legit way to climb back into the fast pace of entertainment besides controversy. It made him look like a hyprocrite and a liar ultimately. Kanye and Drake uses vocoder on BP3 album. he says fuck autotune but hands out passes to wayne, kanye and drake. and also cant forget that hoe shit he did to t pain on stage. he tells niggas to get back to rappin but he got 3-4 songs with Drake. he tells niggas to take off the loud colors but the most animated artist in hip hop right now (Nicki M) is the highest selling artist out of NY this year. DOA was a fuckin sham and did nothing to affect the industry. he was a year late with that shit. 07-08 was when autotune was out of hand and thats the reason why Jockin Jay Z and Swagger Like Us went under the radar. he acted like he was gonna come in and make some changes to hip hop. niggas went from autotune to techno beats and even he followed ship with that.

jay-z was talking about ron browz. despite what he says pubicly, jay-z made the song as an attack on browz who was going around calling himself "ether boy" and had affiliated himself with jim jones who was still throwing shots at jay. browz had started using autotune pretty heavy, and even had a few radio hits with "pop champaigne" and "jumping out the window". and d.o.a. was jay's way of ending him. which is what pretty much happened, cause browz's career has stalled. so even though jay tried to fake like d.o.a was an attack on autotune in general, it had nothing to do with anyone else.
