but you dont have to hear a WHOLE dicography to form a valid opinion, if i DL a Jay-Z album and skim through the first couple of songs and dont hear anything that appeals to me, I can say for certain that im not a fan of his music i shouldnt have to torture myself with track after track trying to find something i know i wont. you listened through all of Jay-Z's albums but i bet you knew after the first 2 or three tracks that you werent gonna be a fan.

Em used to be nice in the Outsidaz/ Rawkus days. He's overexposed not overrated.
I'm not a Eminem fan either. Only album I own by him is Infinite.

I agree that EM was technically better from 1996-1998, BUT HE MADE SOME GREAT SONGS FROM 1999-2001 and he still has flashes of brilliance every now and again.
And as far as the thread topic, Jay has plenty soul, it's just closely guarded and veiled. You have to look real deep or be from where he's from.
