Try looking at it like this...the further up the social ladder you move the less minorities/people of color you find...of course the type of people he hangs around and does business with has changed, he's in a different realm of the business world now...and ya'll act as if Jay does no business at all with black people...ya'll will criticize Jay for being photographed with Billionaires and for taking their business advice...that's what a smart business man does...take advice from people who are more successful than he is...is Jay supposed to not be around white millionaires? Only hang around the black ones, which he does plenty of ya'll just seem to ignore that shit...hell just last month Puffy did an interview saying that him, Jay, and a few others go back and forth on business advice and suggestions all the time...look at how many people Jay done put on and tried to put on and it did or didn't work out...

I understand where you're coming from, but whether he takes advice from "his new friends" is not the issue with me.

It's people acting like these "billionaires" have changed their stripes now that Jay-Z is being photographed with them.

If Bill Gates father was in charge of an Eugenics program, and Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, George Soros, and a host of other men and women in positions of power and influence continue to support these programs, who's to say Jay-Z hasn't picked up some of their ways?

This may be a moot argument, but I wish the brother luck, but if he's doing the same shit these "billionaires" are doing (i.e. funding programs that are in favor of depopulating the earth of people of color) then I can't fuck with his music or any of his business ventures.

you didn't answer the question just provided a song lyric that is way out of context...so again I say are black people not supposed to strive to be rich because there will still be struggling blacks? according to use it's pointless to have millions if there are other blacks struggilng

who is acting like they've changed their stripes? History has shown and proven that the wealthy will kick it with anybody that makes them money regardless of race...and how do you know he's doing the same thing as the people he's around? There's a difference between getting business advice from Warren Buffet and getting advice on how to live your day to day life...and if you're saying you don't care if Jay takes their advice or not then you being worried about Jay picking up their ways makes no sense...it shouldn't concern you if, as you said plain and simple "Whether he takes advice from his new friends is not the issue"

As time passes, we'll see if he's truly changed.

Him making money doesn't matter to me. He's in the entertainment industry, so he should go for it.

But if he's doing the same shit they're doing in the process, then I can't support him anymore.

but you, nor anybody else, knows that for sure so why criticize him for what you THINK he's done...why not look up what he's actually done and doing and base it off that?

You're missing the point...it's nothing wrong with Black striving to be rich..but when you adapt to the business practices of cultures who's known for cutting the back out others, especially those of your own kind for profit and gain then there's something wrong with that picture.

Wow...I can't believe you said that..it's okay that if you really don't know for real, but c'mon b..

Ok so take for example Jay has given away millions, done free concerts where the profits have gone to charities and probably a bunch of other shit I don't feel like looking up at the moment...you mean to tell me ALL of that is null and void simply because you don't agree with HOW he makes his money...and he's not even making money illegally....he's doing it through music, not being a drug dealer and doin a "$1 day in the hood" or no stupid shit like that...I'm talking putting millions and making millionaires out of others from his same circumstances...now where is the "wrong" in that? I can see you not liking the man's music, hell I don't like all of Jay's music there's more I don't like than I do like, but to say he's wrong...that's ass backwards

and how do you know Jay-Z well enough to say he did that? I know what the quote means but there's a reason I said you used it "out of context"...context can change the meaning of things genius...and how are you so sure Jay-Z compromised anything? You known him from childhood or something? That's my main point...ya'll are speaking on pure speculation of what Jay-Z could possibly do or has done w/o any facts to back it up...you THINK Jay somehow sold himself out yet with what he's done for the community, proven not speculation, if that is a sell-out then ya'll got an interesting way of defining things

If Jay-Z does a free concert, I applaud him.

If he gives $1 million or more to charity, good for him.

But if he does a concert for a country in Africa that improves services, but buddy Bill Gates wants to depopulate Africa, what is wrong with this picture?

LOL you Huey Boondocks niggas kill, ready to start a revolution from your suburban den room. Aint none of you niggas on the front line fighting shit, the only thing yall running is your mouth in the comfort of your living room and enjoying the comforts that living in this capitalist society affords you. If you're about the cause, sell all your shit, donate the proceeds to some Africans who need it then move to a African nation and fight for a cause. When will you niggas learn that no one is gonna help you in this country, if you aren't willing to help yourself, this is a capitalisitc system. You build your self up by embracing education, networking, and money management, stop with all that victim shit and take accountability for your own shit in life. The reason why Jay is where he is where he is was because he had some sort of work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and knew how to network with the right people (Clark Kent,Irv Gotti, etc).

Some of yall niggas walk around with a child like mentality, stay waiting for your parents to clean you, dress you, and feed you. At what point do you make a plan and say this is how i'm gonna come up, stop falling victim to the system.

Capitalism doesn't see no color but Green.
