I have a question for my man that started the thread. If you don't like the dude, why talk about him? I have one more for you. If cats don't agree with what you say, why get upset? If they like Jay, they like him. I seriously doubt you can make someone dislike him if they like him already. You don't like his music. I can understand. It's not for every person in the world. There are plenty of artists I don't like. However, the difference between me & you is I choose to ignore them. I have my personal favorites when it comes to hip hop & Jay is one of them. I don't try to convince a single person he's this or that. It's just my preference. More people should realize people like who they like for whatever reason. I can't get mad at my people for liking Cam'ron or Lil Wayne when that's not what I'm into. I just listen to what I listen to & keep it moving.

jay does have songs that i do like (one of my fav is theres been a murder off vol. 3) but he isn't just hands down the dopest rapper to me, but he is nice tho.

Pretty much.

Its weird that Jay has been around for so long that he has multiple levels of haters. Theres the oldschool haters who dont like him cuz he raps about champagne, bling, and crack. Then theres the new breed of haters who werent old enough to see him when he was an underdog and hate him for his success.

Either way, Jay has one of the better catalogs in music and should be inspirational (Dame and Biggs too) for anyone out there trying to start a business or do something with their lives. They pushed their way in the building and earned a seat at the table in the boardroom. Then they burned that bitch down and laughed all the way to the bank.
