Eminem grew up with out a father, with a mother that was a drug addict, was homeless, was a struggling parent working a minimum wage job, his mother lived on welfare, he had baby mother drama, was the only white dude living in black neighbourhoods in Detroit etc

Jay Z was apparently a Crack dealer with out a father etc

Snoop Dogg was a Gang Member Crip that sold drugs and went on trial for killing a rival Gang Member etc

50 Cent was a Crack dealer, his mother was a Crack dealer, his mother got shot and died and he was raised by his grandparents, he got shot 9 times etc

1 thing America captures is a persons struggle and pain the more you been through the more interesting you are

OK, listening to those 4 songs right there, I realized J Cole has no song making ability. His verses have no reverb, no doubles and no adlibs. Combined with the empty beats he often raps on, it makes songs sound incomplete and boring. He needs guidance. It sounds like he's making all his songs alone in the studio with no experienced heads around. This is everything outside of the lyrics that hurts him. He doesn't quite know what completes music and makes it listenable to the world.

Honestly though most folks are dead on about him not making good music and being boring.He doesn't have many songs where he just has charisma or mic presence.Mos Def could spit about the same ish and still be charismatic and make the song engaging.Folks need to quit equating criticizing and dislike to hate.Most folks are tired and frustrated with J.Cole we keep hearing he is the next big rapper he makes a big buzz about a bunch of nothing.
