2. Asher roth and Maclemore are not trying to act stereotypically black.

Like I say about Jay Electronica, if you got something important to say, put it in a rap. If you're an artist, that's your responsibility. But that doesn't mean Banks' message is wrong or unjustified, or that she can't also broadcast her views on twitter if it can reach more people.

Even if you think this is all just vain self-promotion, how in the world does that make Iggy's response "right" (especially when you're already hijacking Banks' terminology by calling her igloo)? Even if Banks' motivations are at least in part self-interested, that doesn't make what she said wrong and Iggy right.

Banks' message was on point. Iggy is all black everything until it comes to shit that actually matters. She's all black everything until it comes to the shit that negatively affects black lives. She's the very definition of a culture vulture. Say what you want about Banks, but nothing Iggy said should get her off the hook. She's nowhere near "right."
