This is a bit off topic - but hang in with me there.

I have been on AHH community for a while now and the past 3 years I have seen posts by users of the community about how whack Eminem is and how he is stealing from black people blah, blah, blah. Anyways, what I never understand is if someone has skill or fuck it, a passion for Hip Hop why are people always hating. I don't give a fuck what anybody says Eminem will rip most of your rappers in your top 5 - easy! Regardless of whether you agree with that or not is besides the point, but you have to respect the amount of content he has put into Hip Hop over his career. He is a legend in the game, but people are still hating because he is white. Simply because of his skin colour - now correct me if I'm wrong, but that's racist right?

I can understand to a degree that Hip Hop was created by us black people to tell stories about our struggles and project our lives into the media. But like with everything it evolves, changes and differs over time. Now to be clear I don't like Iggy, I think I have only heard 2 songs of hers (fancy, work - I liked this song) but if she likes hip -hop let the chick be man! The whackest rapper in the world to me can bring out music, but as long as they are not taking the piss and you can see their real intent on their passion for hip hop then I don't care. And pop stars will use rappers from time to time to gain cred with certain demographics or because the rapper may be hot shit at the moment, but that doesn't make it rap. Flo Rida, Pitbull, LMFAO, BEP, Iggy all at one point may have been considered "rappers", or had their foot in the rap world, but now, they're simply pop stars that use elements of rap to steady themselves in the genre of pop. If people just said Iggy was a pop star no one would give a fuck about her shit. No one would accuse her of trying to misappropriate a culture. She shouldn't be mentioned next to a Rapsody, a Lil Kim and the like. That's not where she belongs.

As to your other argument, you are way off base bruh. Not in the history of rap has someone's speaking voice been so completely unidentifiable in their music. People change their voices, have different inflections on tracks where they're trying to convey something their normal rapping voice may not allow, but no one has completely changed their identity with their voice on EVERY song.

Music is entertainment, yes, but it's not like acting in a movie. Well, it shouldn't be. She's too much a deviation from rap persona to normal persona. White Women ( or really target demographics that arent typical rap fans i.e. blacks and latinos) don't exactly have top 5 MC lists but youd be surprised at who and how much of the music they consume (which is the only thing that matters IMO fuck that 5 elements bullshit).

Like Forest Hills Dr. was just as popping with white people as it was with Blacks and thats just the most relevant examples. White people aren't diggin in crates or even going back and listening to Illmatic, but for what the culture is as of 2014, they are active contributing member.
