Specifically I'm talking synth, brass, and other miscellaneous sound effects. They seem so technical and layered I find it slightly hard to believe that the notes are actually being played. But if they are, props. Though I'm not a big fan, some of it is entertaining.

usually people will just click and automate/chop them

Making of Big Sean and Meek Mill's "Burn"

others will play them on MPD/Maschine/whatever controller

like so

i try to play at least part of the note, but idk how to read music or anything like that, so if i hear some more shit in my head that i cant immediately play ill end up piecing it together

If you do end up learning you'll look back on it like damn this shit was easy.

Its nothing to it I suggest anybody that is into music learn the basics. It'll make things easier and expand the possibilities

Yeah all you need to do is learn the basics about scales to maintain cohesiveness in your melodies and stay in key and its that much easier. I only know the real basic stuff right now like I can read basic sheet music and understand the basics of chords and scales and everything and my capabilities done expanded extremely.

fucked around and made a novice decision. Sampling was the main issue I had. But I found a loophole to that. Long story short I bought into the hype of Ableton. The only plus side I will say about Ableton is that I had more lead way (I think I'm saying it right) using the Akai MPD26 than FL Studio. Also I'm thinking about investing in Maschine or an MPC as a standalone.

anyone know what type of vst or sound i can get to replicate the rhodes/piano/soft synth? in this song?

I think [retty much any vst if you know how to layer and manipulate the sound to get what you want. FL Piano, True Piano, Nexus. M1 has a lot of good sounds you can use for your layering.
