well you got basically the sample and the 808/snare

maybe put some more percussion or layer the sample or put some synths or something to complement the melody of the sample

i used to use a preset that on fl that put a parametric, multiband and stereo enhancer on the beats, then i added a maximus to juice it up more, put another compressor on there, and used the limiter, i think it gives my beats a solid sound for someone who isnt a pro engineer

Why do you compress your master? Never seen that before.

Cool beat, but I agree that it's missing something... something progressive to keep it from getting too stale and generic.. maybe another melody with synths or acoustic guitar with a filter on it... something like the second verse of If I Ruled the World...

First beats I ever made was on MTV music generator for the PS one lol. Hooked the audio wires from the PlayStation to my boom box's aux and made 60 minute beat tapes Lol. Those were the days

I gave your tracks a listen when you dropped them. I'm really feeling the samples used in the first one, but I don't like that filter where it sounds like it drowns out the audio... I forget what it's called, and it's not a bad effect when used sparingly, but khaled and them played it out and it doesn't really go with the rest of the track... the second track wasn't my cup of tea....

Don't know about maximus, but do you feel like using the limiter brings down the overall sound quality of the track?
