Very interesting case but felt it could've dug a little deeper because it felt like it just scratched the surface. Random fact: Johnny Gosch and another missing Iowa boy were the first people to be featured on the back of a milk carton.

I saw that as well ..they found Johnny s remains 30 miles from where he was kidnapped news reported last week dude who did it was already in jail for child porn ..said he evaded capture that night and days after by listening to a police scanner ...he also said he went back to where he buried Johnny to re bury him because his jacket was sticking out the ground
Also etan patz was also one of the first to be posted on a milk carton

Wasn't that Jacob Wetterling that they found recently. Haven't heard anything about them finding Gosch.

Hirsches plays a character that comes from a well to do family. Upper class family but he was sort of the black sheep in a way. He never cared for material posessions and soon after he graduates from college he burns up all of his identification and money, and runs a way with plans to move to alaska and live fully off of the land.
The movie bounces back and forth to modern day where he is in alaska and then has chapters showing his 2 year journey to alaska with no money and all the people he meets along the way.
Shit was a really cool movie. Makes you realize what a fake society we live in. But living off of the land would be very hard too but I highly recommend this movie if you got a netflix account it was a great watch.

After seeing the movie im very interested in getting the book. Was a great film. Its kind of a dream of mine to live off of the grid as well. I dunno about in AK because of the winters, but somewhere in california or something where i can grow food year round? I would totally do that. Getting rid of everyday comforts would be hard but I think i could do it. He seemed so free and peaceful and happy that it looked appealing as fuck to get rid of everything haha

Had to watch this for film a few years back and I liked it. I watched again recently and I still like it.
Its a little dark but that's part of why it's dope.
