Rented this shit a couple weeks ago. Terrible film, just awful. The premise got my attention, but I fell asleep several times during this movie and I was watching it during the day.

Jesse Eisenberg has no real range but he's ok in most his movies. I don't even know what to say. It's like a Wes Anderson film visually but the story is drab and you can't really make out when this movie is set. Just a pointless film, imdb art house hipsters loved. It was getting 7's 8's and 9's.

Basically it's about a guy that is soft spoken and is constantly getting shitted on in his life. One day a guy comes along at his job that looks just like him but with an exact opposite personality. Everybody loves the new guy and yadee yadee yaddah.

I don't know if y'all seen the movie the Watch with Ben Stiller, this was directed by the black British dude.

lol

i thought this movie was pretty decent tbh...reminded me of fight club

Alotta people said that and a movie called Brazil that I haven't seen.

It's based off a French novel which has had a couple of film adaptions made off it.personally enjoyed it myself but I can understand if it's not everyone's cup of tea.

One of the other adaptations (albeit loose) is the jake gylenhall film 'enemy' which came out last year.absolute mind fuck of a movie, I may have to watch it again now I've been reminded of it.

there's more than a few theories out there, my understanding of the film was the same as this one

I don’t think I’ll have many disagreements when I say the spiders represent Anthony’s feelings about women, specifically his afore-mentioned fear of commitment, which he sees as entrapment. The web imagery also highlights this. In the opening scene we find Anthony at the sex club, watching a naked woman squash a spider with her high heels. Anthony seems to be thoroughly enjoying this. The stripper represents his inherent promiscuity (i.e. freedom) while the spider represents his wife (imprisonment). Later in the film we see a striking image of a spider with spindly legs roaming the Toronto skyline. This shot immediately precedes the scene with Anthony’s mother, a woman he also resents as he perceives her to be controlling. Could the giant spider be his mother?

Helen takes the form of a giant spider in the final scene. The most unsettling element is not her transformation, but the fact that she recoils at the sight of Anthony. She is terrified. She knows that he’s gone back to his old ways and she’ll never have a husband that cares for her, or one that will protect her child. Indeed, she seems to fear for her life.

The final shot only serves to elevate the horror, as Anthony regards his spider-wife with a detached acceptance. A sly smile begins to cross his lips as we cut to black.

Anthony truly is his own worst Enemy.

You know… like the title.

Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. Dope flick. Picks up where the first one let off. The runners of the maze continue to fight the army of wickd all while trying to figure out how the world ended up like it is. Good story, good action. Nice twist if you haven't read books or spoilers. 3.9/5

Everest. Saw this today with the wife. It's the journey of mountain climbers climbing the highest mountain in the world. On the way up they run into the normal difficulties. On the way down they run into one of the largest storms to hit the mountain. Tearjerker. My wife cried a little bit. Great story, amazing visuals. You really get pulled into the story and start to root for the people. Displays the sherpas even though I believe they should have gotten more screen time and how their role is important to the chances of success. I give it a 6.5/10.
