To The Wonder .. Terence Malick's latest. Dude is the most unorthodox filmmaker in the game. His films have no structure whatsoever and he doesn't show his face in public or do interviews. Doesn't promote his films either. Cinematography is lush and high grade. It stars Ben Affleck.

Spy Game .. I watched this years ago around the time it was released. Saw it again some weeks back. Its one of Tony Scott's (RIP) best films and slept on. Stars Brad Pitt and Robert Redford as US spies during the Cold War .. .

yo,I just blazed one and am about 20 mins into spring breakers and this is just some ridiculousness I have to comment on.this harmony korine fella who made this is on some downlow peado shit,I've seen 'kids' so he's a repeat offender in my book.anyway those 4 pubescenetesque (that is a ridiculously big word to type out when your high,I'm not even sure if its actually a word) girls doing cocaine, giving each other shotguns, girating around in their underwear, robbing man dem up in diners, dialogue like 'ooooh this money makes my pussy wet' and I swear its the greatest shit ever.and now James Franco just showed up as whatever the fuck he is and my mind is blown.

WTF @ when Franco started suckin the gun like it was a dick. i was like "oooookay, WTF man."

but GOAT @ his rant before that. classic capitalism/Scarface shit. talkin bout "look at all my shit!!"

yeah it all kinda went down hill after they got out of prison...plus i ran out of smoke fml

quick one line thoughts about movies i've seen lately

melanchonia - eeehh.... i wanted to like it and i understood it perfectly fine but it was just so fucking boring.Kirtsen Dunst's tittays though redeemed it a little.

Parker - typical statham flick (his attempt at a southern accent is joyful) all of people jenifer lopez comes in halfway and walks away with the movie which i suppose says a lot.

Stoker - being a massive fan of the director i was expecting big things from this, beautifully made but it's a film that leaves you cold.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone - watched it for Jim Carrey and he was the best thing about it.some real funny stuff here and there but it has this surreal feel to it which im not sure works or not.

Bullet to the head - i liked this, feels like a throwback joint,if your a fan of stallone its worth checking out, asian dude from fast and the furious does a good job in this as well.

(GRADE B ) Antione Fuqua the man that brought us the Classic film "Training Day" brings us the biggest hit of his career. With "White House Down" flopping last weekend, I decided to give this movie a try 1st before I see it. To my surprise it actually was a very good action thriller. It was basically Die Hard in the White House but serious throughout. The film has an all star cast including Gerald Bulter from "300", The Legend Morgan Freeman, Arron Ackhart, Angela Bassett and Ashely Judd. The film is about a former White House Secret Service Agent who ends up relived of his duty for a mistake. Years pass and now North Korea attacks Washington. It just so happens that x-agent is the only one that can save the president who was taken hostage. I thought it was a very good action flick. Lots of action. Bulter was great in the lead. The reason "White House Down" flopped is this movie was actually better than people expected. It almost grossed 100 Million at the box office.

(GRADE B) Speaking of "Die Hard" and "Hostages". This is a Bruce Willis Film I never got around to seeing that came out in 2005. "Hostage" is about Bruce playing a former Hostage Negotiator who finds himself a hostage situation. Because of a mistake Bruce made it cost him to lost his Negotiator position. A Decade passes and he's now a chief of police. When a rich guy house is taken hostage by some kids it forces Bruce to go back to his job. But things get crazy when a new set of hostages is taken and the people Bruce is trying to save he finds out has some deep and dark connects. I liked it. It started out as your typical hostage film but turn into something more sinister as the movie went on.

(GRADE A) "Killing Them Softly" is a Mob Crime Thriller starting Brad Pitt and the man himself James Gandolpini (RIP). It also stars Ray Liotta. It's about a mob card game getting robbed and the Mob sending their clean up guy (Brad Pitt) to get the people that did it. 1st the acting in this film is top notch. The Dialogue and themes were great too about money and the economy. But what I loved most about the movie is it felt like a Sopranos episode in an alternate universe. You even had Tony Soporano and Johnny Mob Boss from New York in the movie so it felt like a little Sopranos reunion. Overall the film fits right in with a lot of the good mob films of the 80's and 90's. The tension and built up is what drives the movie to the end. Brad Pitt does a great job in this. Loved it.

220px-Jack_the_Giant_Slayer_poster.jpg

(GRADE C) Bryan Singer the man behind The X-Men Series and the Classic "Usual Suspects" brings us an updated version of the Classic Jack and the Beanstock fairytale. Hollywood has been on this reinventing Fairy Tales stuff for awhile now with "Snow White and the Huntsman and Hansel and Grettel Witch Hunter". Jack is a good adventure and the effects were on point. Ewan Mcgregor does a good job in this but the movie is just OK at best. The characters don't really pull you in and the spectacle of it is what keeps you interested. The GIANTS were cool though. So I think if you are a kid you would like the adventure but adults might be a little bored with the story and acting.

(GRADE B+) Steven Soderberg the man behind such Classics as "Traffici, Erin Brockovich" and the "Ocean's 11 Trilogy" comes the Psychological Thriller "Side Effects". With an all star cast which inlcudes Jude Law, Catheleen Zeta Jones, Rooney Mora and new Hollywood Star Channing Tatum the film is very well acted. The story is about a women suffering from depression. After a sucided attempted she is prescribed a new drug from her Doctor Jude Law. But the movie takes some crazy turns when we find out what are the side effects of that drug. I thought it was a great thriller. Kept me guessing the whole time. It really did a great job showing you the bad sides of the Big Pharma Drug companies and what they do to test their products. It even got a little Hitchcock with the way the movie played out. He's one of my favorite directors so I always seem to like his films.

(GRADE B) Spike is BACK with the 6th film in his Chronicle of Brooklyn series which is to explore the life of Blacks in Brooklyn New York. The 1st 5 films were "She's Gotta Have it, Do The Right Thing, Crooklyn, Clockers, He got Game". "Red Hook Summer" is about a young boy who visits his religious grandfather in Brooklyn for the summer. He finds out the good and bad sides of living in the inner city. But when a secret from the past rocks his grandfathers church, the boy has to deal with a whole new set of emotions. I liked the movie. It was done on a low budget from students from NYU. But the quality was great. Love the Brooklyn atmosphere. It was like Crooklyn and Clockers kinda mixed together. It was shot very well for it being done by mostly students. But Spike is the man.

I've seen so many movies the last few weeks...both at the theaters & downloading...lets start

The Purge Grade D.....shitty movie

Now You See Me Grade C+....decent movie...my only beef with it was the ending....kinda felt like they just through something together at the end and didn't really explain it

Man of Steel Grade A.....this movie was amazing...an Action Packed Superman movie..I couldn't ask for more than that seeing on the big screen is a must!

Fast & Furious 6 Grade C+ good action movie

G.I. Joe Retaliation Grade C....another good action movie...nothing more than that.

A Beginner's Guide to Endings

Its on netflix instant. Movie is awesome. Its a black comedy about a dad who commits suicide and in his will, tells his 3 of his eldest sons that they are dying.

Good ass movie. Funny.

Grade: A

@rapmastermind man I've seen all those movies in your last posts. I also partially agree with your review grades ..

In the past week I've seen:

The Seven Pyschopaths - I think this has been reviewed here. I actually rented this to watch. Hilarious and bloody and you can't really tell reality from fiction. Sam Rockwell's a fool. LOL

World War Z - A summer blockbuster with a hint of intelligence and not burdened with CGI and explosions. Brad Pitt hardly looks like a mega-star in this which is cool. And the film also avoids well known actors, another plus.

Before Midnight - Independent film from Richard Linklater and the third film of the trilogy starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy as man and wife going through marriage "issues". Its a film for grown-ups. Solid.

Was just browsing through my OnDemand watched a few seconds of the trailer and decided to watch..

Think Home Alone with a kid with a severely violent temperament .. The kid reminds me of Evan Peters character from American Horror Story season 1

taken me a week to watch the lord of the rings extended editions.i watched the first one when it was originally released and enjoyed it but never bothered checking the others out (never been a massive fan of fantasy),since Game of Thrones is the shit i thought i'd sit down and watch them.

jesus.

i can appreciate almost everything about these films aside from the story,i can't really blame that on the films either seeing as from what i've read it sticks pretty close to the source material, but randal from clerks assessment was pretty much spot on(even the fucking tree's walk in this movie),i virtually skipped the last 30 or so mins of the last film just wanting that shit to end.Maybe watching GOT before this kinda killed it for me since i'd rather have an adult approach to this sort of stuff than all out dungeons and dragons shit.

still great achievement though to be able to put that vision on screen in the first place but i don't think i'll ever watch these again and it made me delete the hobbit off my hard drive as well.i don't want to sit through another 9 hours of this shit.

Batman Returns. lol. Danny DeVito and those dirty pajamas still creepy as hell. Tried to watch Forever right after, but man that movies bad.

Anuvahood. Terrible. Talking loud does not equal funny. Had to fight to get through it because of all the talking with the lead guy going over the top being annoying about everything.

Longmire. One of my favorite shows going.

The Scapegoat.

The Conjuring - 8.5/10

Easily one of the better horror films I've seen in the last 10 years, and I see alot. But like I said before I saw it; I knew it was going to live up to expectations when I saw Vera Farmiga. She doesn't do bad movies. James Wan won me over with Insidious, and The Conjuring is an even better film.

Just saw this on netflix. Not a bad horror movie at all i was suprised by it. Its one of those home movie type of movies so the camera moves around a lot but i enjoyed it

8/10

Saw The Bling Ring with my sis mid- week at the cinema ..

Its a film about materialism and fame with some white kids in LA told in TMZ fashion but in a way its quite interesting with the way it was directed and shot . ..

Directed by Sofia Coppola, daughter of Francis Ford

A lot of HipHop music aids these kids as they go robbing celebrities homes ..

A Thief's Theme ..
