The Thieves. Starts slow because it has a pretty deep roster, but great action once the actual heist starts. Not the best story with all the double crossing going on and you never get the feeling that any of the thieves are professionals at what they're doing considering the job. No honor amongst thieves and all that, but why waste an hour showing teams within teams within teams if nobody's loyal to begin with.

After Earth

My girlfriend and I caught the 10 am showing this morning and she told me "This movie better be good". My expectations weren't that high but still went in with an open mind. Movie starts out with Will and Jaden's ship exploding into pieces but then we got into the back story of these characters. Earth has been left basically unusable by humans fucking things up and are forced to leave and take up shop on another planet. Of course they have to deal with aliens called Ursas so they come up with their own military force for protection. Will is the head honcho who is able to "ghost" (when you hide your fear, the Ursa's, who hunt by fear can't find you). Jaden, trying to live up to his dad's rep goes on some kind of mission with him but their ship explodes where him and his dad are the only survivors. Jaden is left to trek through dangerous terrain to get help before it's too late. It's at this point in the movie where things start to get........well.............retarded

The crux of this plot is based on fear and courage. You're on a planet that used to be earth so you don't know what's out there. All he has to do his listen to his dad (I'll get to him later) and he'll be fine but Jaden's level of bitchassness in this movie is on epic levels of shameful. He is a winy, blubbery, annoying bastard that breaks down at a moments notice. You try to root for him but he just finds new ways to fuck up. Jaden's acting is absolutely terrible as well to where I hated him for a lot of it.

Will isn't that much better either. He's supposed to be devoid of fear but there is a difference between showing no fear and coming off as deadpan. Example: He has two broken legs because of the crash and he never breaks character. He has no emotion even when we see how bad his injury is. I suffered a contusion in my foot playing basketball a few years ago that had me in so much pain, I could barely walk without having the feeling of throwing up. If we didn't know he was injured, we could've just thought he was being lazy or a bad dad. The plot is nothing you haven't seen before but still feels lacking. It's a movie with more style than substance. A sandwich with next to no meat in it. We're supposed to see a boy growing into a man and all that but a whole lot of nothing happens between the ship crashing and the only fight scene in the movie towards the end and even less in terms of character development to the point where the climax of the movie is damn near impossible to believe. So many expendable characters in this that you wonder why didn't the movie just have Will and Jaden be the only characters in it. Throw in some plot holes and you have a movie not worth the money to watch

I slept on this movie and I regret it. I just watched this shit and it's hardcore! I had no idea that it would have that much violence and gore in it. The scene with the troll took that shit to the next level. They killing kids and shit. I thought that somebody was going to stop the witch from chopping up that kid at the last minute.........NOPE!!! The crazy ass weapons and the witches are g.o.a.t! The pace of the movie was a little too fast for you to really connect with the characters. But it worked out in the end because there's gonna be a sequel(hopefully) and that will give you time to connect. M.T.V been Making some dope movies lately.

@Vader

How did you feel about most of dope shit they showed in the commercial only happening while the credits were rolling?

Didn't really bother me had enough action to satisfy me....did u watch the unrated version or theatrical? I watched the unrated

Don't know which one I watched. I was watching the DVD with my sister and her friends. What's the difference?

The unrated has more gore and extra scenes.....like the scene where the sheriff and his goons beatin up gretel...in a cut out scene they were about to rape her and started taking off her clothes then tha troll came to her rescue ....the unrated is only on bluray

jus finished the 1st 5 seasons of Nurse Jackie over about 3 weeks. only gave it a watch becuz Gyp Rosetti is in it. Went in not expecting much. but its a very good drama-comedy. with hella super awkward yet funny scenes. Nurse Jackie the character, overall is a fucked up person, who treats her family like shit, but goes all out for her patients. My fav characters are Zoey and Dr. Coop. really good show, lookin forward to watch season 6

Hansel and gretel ----wtf. shit was wack

Avengers. Not a big fan of superhero movies so I couldn't get into this one at all. Spent most of the time thinking Hawkeye and the girl were just ridiculous additions to the team.

Braveheart. Stopped watching 3/4 they way through. Doesn't hold up at all. Extras in the background might as well have had nerf bats.

Rescue Me. Loved this show. Did have some moments of FX buffoonery like Nip/Tuck, but I liked how it wrapped things up. Surprised it stayed on for 3 seasons after the leary raping his exwife episode. Mustve missed the stink about that.

Arahan. Not enough fighting. DBZ method. Lots of training, fights we do see have a whole lot of closeup screaming for ultimate moves. Pretty bad outside of that. Lead is the stupid side of goofy, but with good intentions, so he's extra annoying.

End of Watch. Wasn't bad, but the handheld camera and music stopped me from liking it. Ending did have me throwing my hands up though. The fuck they leave the apartment for? Got the cavalry coming. And the part where he let the guy beat that woman officer was on some Upham in the fetal shit.

yo,I just blazed one and am about 20 mins into spring breakers and this is just some ridiculousness I have to comment on.this harmony korine fella who made this is on some downlow peado shit,I've seen 'kids' so he's a repeat offender in my book.anyway those 4 pubescenetesque (that is a ridiculously big word to type out when your high,I'm not even sure if its actually a word) girls doing cocaine, giving each other shotguns, girating around in their underwear, robbing man dem up in diners, dialogue like 'ooooh this money makes my pussy wet' and I swear its the greatest shit ever.and now James Franco just showed up as whatever the fuck he is and my mind is blown.

Man-of-Steel-Trailer.jpg

(GRADE = B)

Christopher Nolan the man behind "The Dark Knight Trilogy" and Zack Synder the man behind "300 and The Watchman" bring you the next addition into the Superman Film Franchise with "Man of Steel". After "Superman Returns" lackluster box office return Warner Bros went back to the drawing board and decided to reboot Superman. After the success of Batman they brought in Nolan to assemble a team that includes Zack Synder and David Goyer. "Man of Steel" was born. The film stars Henry Cavil, Amy Adams and Michael Shannon.

Unlike "Returns" which acts as a sequel to the 1st two Superman movies. "Man of Steel" doesn't have any real connection to the original Christopher Reeves films. The movie begins in Krypton (Like Superman 1) and then goes into General Zod and his team tracking down Superman (Superman II) so the story is basically Superman 1 + II combined. They didn't really focus on smallville outside of a few flashbacks. I thought both Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner did great jobs. Diana Lane was ok. I liked the sci-fi element of Krypton (Outside Russell Crowe riding around on a damn Dragon Fly, lol). The action was on point once General Zod and his team came down. They all wrecked shop. I thought Henry Cavil was a very good Kal-El but not a great Clark Kent.

That may be because of the script but the Clark side is really only eluded to instead of being in the forfront. We really don't get to see the Clark Kent personality to the very end of the movie so I guess they are saving that for part II. Louis Lane's character was under developed and had no chemistry with Superman at all. Also it was wack that Lois knew Clark identity. So outside of some story issues I thought it was a nice addition and a good start to a new series. Better than "Returns" but falls short of the Christopher Reeves originals. I mean if you want to be honest, "Man of Steel" was really (Superman and Superman II the remix), lol. Also I hope Lex is the next movie. But congrats to Nolan, Zack and Goyer for reinventing Superman in this new era.
