Z Nation. Started off liking it. Thought it was going to be one of those anomoly's, like Continuum. Ensemble with three or more actual black characters. They fixed that quick. Watched the rest of the season, but that was a solid punch, even though I shoulve known it was coming. Way more downs than ups. You're stuck with DJ Qualls. ..you're stuck with DJ Qualls. A lot of the dialogue is powerfully cheesy. Pause Netflix, close your eyes and mentally check yourself so your remote doesn't fly through you tv cheesy. Couldn't keep a black guy around, but could have us suffer through the lame ass lovebirds and the kid sniper - wack character that's Sniper Wolf/End/random rpg character that doesn't speak and has a bottomless bag of ammo. Zombie rules of the universe don't make sense. A baby can turn and immediately has the skills of the most predatory predator to ever predatate. A whole swarm of zombies will 'play dead' and float down a river for however long, in a world where the living population is pretty much wiped out, to surprise people they shouldn't even know exist - note, the water doesn't effect them at all. At the same time, if you're quiet, you're essentially invisible to them. ...huh? At least there's Kellita Smith. And the comedy from 'the cure', even if his story went to shit at the end.
The Interview. Though it was funny as hell. Ran a little long in some spots, but that's just me not liking any music breaks. Two or three of those that I could've done without. So goofy I'm surprised anybody really thought something was going to happen over it.
Marco Polo. Enjoyed it. Got tired of the Polo character a though. Appreciated him being there for characters to dump info on the viewer, or even being our eyes on some intrigue, but I couldn't care less about the lovestory subplots. Felt like they caught on to that and gave more time to where it was needed, but I did start fastfowarding through his scenes with the princess so..yeah. Love the look of it, especially seeing a non-white culture from that era. Hundred Eyes and the Hashashin were great. Wondering if this was just a one-off miniseries though.
Heat. Because I wanted to slap on the headphones and get into that bank scene. Gonna get into Collateral over the weekend because the sound on that is just as good.
Soul Plane. I'm not sure if I ever sat through this whole movie. Just as terrible as people made it out to be. Swear I thought it was gonna be something that was so bad it'd be good, but it wasn't.
The Ref. 90s ranting Denis Leary movie. Great with all the shitting on one another everybody does.
