Jus binged S1 of Red Oaks. I dig this show. Its not lol funny, but its solid. More of a drama/comedy. Its a coming of age story about a couple kids at a summer country club in the 80s. Fun watch, homie be bagging some bad broads lol. Real good cast, nice 80s touch n the soundtrack is goat

Nice, im currently just subscribed to Netflix and Hulu w/ the HBO add on. Mainly just for comfort so I dont have to repeatedly get up and change the episode on my computer haha. Been considering getting Amazon Prime though for all the benefits with ordering stuff, but i dont order stuff too often so im not sure if its worth it for me yet, but you're right their Amazon Originals are definitely picking up some steam and they got a lot of quality looking shows on the way. Cant wait to see what they do.

Netflix is raising their subscription price a dollar in November i believe they said. Also announced they plan on releasing 80 Netflix Original movies/TV Shows in 2018 so hope that extra dollar is gonna be worth it haha.

Watched the extended version of Battle of the Five Armies, this movie is damn good. Could have done less with the slapstick comedy. Hella violent too , the battle must have been atleast none stop for an hour.

*hot take* i think its better than Return of the King battlewise because the victory is well earned because some of the main ensemble died.

Amazing Documentary about Speilberg’s career in film

whoa at Brian De Palma coming up with idea for the title scroll of Star Wars!!

One of the smartest and darkest black comedies you will ever see

from the writer or Veep about the historical account rise of Nikita Khrushchev after Stalin suddenly passes away and all the central committee member from Laventy , Molotov ,Zhukov etc if you are into Russian history. Jason Isaacs was hilarious as General Zhukov.

ready dope movie , get performances all round. Its pretty bleak but has hilarious dialogue.

9/10. In my top 10 of the year so far

Get Shorty is an American comedy-drama television series based on the 1990 novel of the same title by Elmore Leonard as well as the Barry Sonnenfeld-directed 1995 film, adapted by Davey Holmes. The first season will consist of ten episodes, and premiered on Epix on August 13, 2017. On August 23, 2017, the series was renewed for a second ten episode season.

Middle of binging this new show called Get Shorty, on some channel called Epix. Fun watch imo. Feels like a FX show tho. Certain parts of it feel like a bootleg Fargo.

Jus finished this. It was coo. Pacing is alil off at times, but its a solid watch. Its a quirky dark drama/comedy.

Tim Roth stars Tin Star. 1st ep was dope af. Starts off w a bang. Then it turns into a clumsy, gloomy, depressing cluster fuck. Roth is a hell of a actor but this a mess. The plot is jus silly. All the characters are bland and boring. Ending was dumb but still interesting imo

Since I cut the cord I've been trying to figure all this streaming shit out. Finally hit a good groove and I finished season 2 of Billions yesterday.

That shit was fucking FANTASTIC!!!

I want to play the game on that level. I already know I can be that be that petty just have to get out of the thought process of if somebody fucking with me punch them in the face. Instead figure of what things they make money from, love or like and try to take that shit away from them.

If I succeed at that it fucks them up on a whole other level than a good ass punch in the face. I also can avoid going to jail by playing the game that way.

I love this fucking show!!

I watched the 1st 4 eps of billions. Found it kinda corny, then stopped. Might give it another watch tho.

I did the same. Gave it about 3-4 episodes. I didnt necessarily find it corny, but I just couldnt get into it too much. I keep hearing nothing but good things though, I will probably restart it from the beginning soon.

Got hulu and I'm cutting off netflix after I watch stranger things. Hulu GOAT for regular tv I been missing over the years. Binged the first 3 seasons of broad city (funny af) and now I'm catching up on black-ish.

I got both of them just for comfort mainly haha. Hulu is dope when regular TV shows are on the air, but when the finale's happen and there isnt any new incoming episodes, it can be pretty wack. I got the HBO add on for my account. There arent many hulu originals that are very good. There are a couple, but I feel Netflix has way better originals.

Yea netflix is better for movies and stuff but I've been paying for it for over 2 years. I need to cut it off and miss it for a month or three so I can appreciate it lol. There's heellllaaa shows and cartoons I wana watch and netflix is about to cost the same so it's an even trade. I still got hbo and Amazon (although idk why I barely use it anymore lol) so I can keep netflix on the back burner for a while.

Nothing I can say about how you hear the dialogue.

Living in DC and being in certain parts of the city and especially the last couple of years with me working by the white house, Lewis character ain't over the top at all. People that don't even have the money he has on the show really act like that.

Also his character IMO got better as the show moved on and IMO they kind of showed some of his thought processes which kind of showed why he acted the way he does.

Season 2 was much better than season 1 to me also.

Parkland - released in 2013 and based on the true events on the day following JFK's assassination. The title name being the hospital he was rushed to in Dallas and also the same hospital his alleged killer Lee Harvey Oswald was rushed following him being shot too. Very interesting watching in real time the chaos and confusion that occurs around presidential aides when they've lost their boss under short notice.

No coincidence with Trump and JFK files...

The Yards - starring Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix and Charlize Theron with James Caan. Drama on corruption within the unions who run New York's rail construction yards and the police. Released in 2000.

Live By Night - Ben Affleck's fourth feature as director. It didn't do particularly well with critics but watching it today for the first time it's a decent prohibition gangster flick set in Boston and Miami and pits the Irish against the Italian mafia... Cameo from Miguel, RnB singer

Nice period detail too. Cool for a lazy, Sunday afternoon but not a classic. 3/5
