One of the few spike movies I hadn't seen. Caught it on HBO. I figured out strike wasn't the killer pretty early, but it was still a good watch the rest of the way. Lot of familiar faces too.

Watched on netflix cuz @Broddie had snake plissken in his sig. It was cool. Wish we could get action heroes like that back.

Been wanting to see this for a while. It's free to watch on amazon if you have prime. It's about this Korean girl that gets hired to be this rich Japanese lady's handmaiden. The Korean girl grew up in a family of scammers and she went into the new job with this guy who wanted to marry the Japanese lady for her inheritance and split it with the Korean girl. It's directed by park chan-wook, so if you've seen the original oldboy, stoker, or the mr and mrs vengeance movies you already know his movies are weird and have some typa twist to it. This was no different. Was a little long to me but it was worth it.

And for you nasty niggas there's explicit lesbian sex scenes so there's an incentive to at least Google it lol.

Season 2 of Sundance channels Hap and Leonard. Set in the rural south in the 80s. its a cool buddy murder mystery. Nice lil tease for season 3 at the end.

Dope movie. Had some really important themes going on for a coming of age flick: materialism when you're poor, masculinity and violence, young kids being exposed to that violence and possibly repeating the cycle...good movie but was also sad.

Saw it on the big screen Saturday night. The Director's Cut... dope flick. I liked how the story was told from different perspective by the main perpetrators of the story: editing was dope... the graphic sexual scenes were a complimentary attribute to the story and the rapey degenerate men in the cult. LOL

Highly recommended

It's annoying that I've been wanting to catch this film for months now, yet no cinema is showing it near me. Massive Park Chan-Wook fan so it's good to hear you thought it was worth watching, otherwise still annoyed.

If you're an Amazon Prime member or have their TV stick I think you should get it. The movie was produced by Amazon...

I was shocked to hear it was in the top 10, but maybe the picturehouse crowd got it there if you couldn't find it anywhere near you.

Watched it a week ago, thought it was great, really really good, some of the best set designs i've seen in a minute and the interwoven narrative is park at his peak.

What would you say is his weakest film (or how would you rank them in general) because i came out of this thinking it was one of his most entertaining, and certainly one of his best made.

To those who have seen the movie
just because i haven't seen anyone else talk about it anywhere and i not sure whether i was seeing things, the uncle was practising like an early take of acts you see in hentai and shit right?... but on his wife.

that one scene with the octopus in the cut creeped me the hell out.

I'll have to check Amazon Prime later on. I didn't think it would be on there but I'll check it out later. Nice one.

I'm surprised to hear how popular it's been, but I guess there is quite a sizable hardcore audience out that that will seek films like this out.

Weakest film for me is I'm A Cyborg, But That's Okay. It has its charm and the lead actress has some kick-ass Pony trainers, otherwise it doesn't always work (though its still worth a watch).

I guess his most obvious film is Old Boy for anyone who hasn't already seen it by now, but that would be too easy. The rest of his Vengeance trilogy especially Lady Vengeance is worth a watch. Stoker is perverse and underrated, and Thirst is a good spin on the vampire genre that examines lust and religion. Thirst is a seriously moody film though: it's easily the darkest of his films.

Completely agree about I'm a cyborg, not even a bad film at all, just too much of a left turn at that time compared to what had come before, i bet it'll actually age quite well for that reason.

Thirst is the one i just fully didn't get on board with despite being a big fan of the main actor kong sang ho as well.like you said just a deeply moody film, probably the movie of his that gives you the most to digest with its context, it's the only film of his i don't own, i'll pick it up sometime to revisit it and complete the collection.

Oldboy has always been my favourite film of his, but i'd actually argue sympathy for mr vengeance is actually his 'best' film, i watched it not too long ago and it's just so fucking raw, i found a whole new level of appreciation for it.

Handmaiden reminded me of Stoker and i really liked that, almost top tier park for me, the themes are similar but opposite, it's way more perverse but not with repressed sexuality.

JSA was quality as well, i may have to dig that one out.

Middle of binging IFC's Brockmire. Basically Eastbound and Down from the pov of the play by play guy, only way less funnier. Still a solid watch tho, Amanda Pete is a milf.

I thought this shit would be super trash, but it was actually decent. it exceed my expectations, however....

the second ending was terrible. they should've ended it with samara killing her biological pops and it would've been a nice way to conclude her story. but you can say the same thing about the first film. actually, this film was basically a carbon copy of the first

Also....

how is this dead bitch sarama able to hack into the main characters computer and send the cursed video to all of her contacts? when did she become proficient in malware?

they also never explained how she was able to direct that short film in the first place

whats the connection between samara and tv/laptop/smart phone screens? why is that her medium to come into the real world?

and how the fuck is she able to call people? what phone is she using?

actually the more i think about it, fuck this movie
