Just peeped another doc on netflix called "what's that sample?". Shit was awesome, it's a doc about this history of the record "Apache" that was used by Kool herc in his early parties that crdated hip hop, then went on to be the most sampled song in hip hop history due to it having so many different drum breaks. Really awesome doc.

And the "Apache" joint was recorded in Canada. I liked the doc; wasn't feeling Gene Simmons as the narrator tho, anybody but him lol...

Stretch & Bobbito - Really dope, a lot of old freestyles. Even had Nas, Jay & Fat Joe interviews. Can't believe they didn't record the show with B.I.G. luckily someone came through with it...

Arrival - Liked it for the most part. Not sure learning an alien language would rewire your brain to allow for what she did in the movie but interesting none the less. Brings up a lot of questions...

Rogue One - It was lit. Basically a gritty war movie in the Star Wars universe. Donnie Yen made up for the lack of Jedi and lightsabers...

Check out the Docs "Out Vinyl Weighs a Ton" and "The Good Life" and "Organized Noize" on netflix. all hip hop related docs if you havent seen them already. Dope af. Especially Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton. That is the best documentary i think i have ever seen. I love Stones Throw Records.

Checked the ONP a month or so back. It was dope. Their influence is very understated even if Kast didn't rock with them anymore, they're sort of responsible for their overall sound...

I will definetly check the rest out...

That Doc taught me so much about them haha. I was always familiar with them due to outkast, but didnt know all of the other records they produced like TLC and Vogue. They made some records that sold a shitload. A Outkast ON reunion would be amazing. Shit a whole Dungeon Family reunion would be dope.

Definitely check out Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton, you will not be disappointed. Such a good story and information behind classic ass albums and artists like J Dilla, Madlib, MF Doom, Charizma, and others.

Watched Gone Girl this past weekend. Man talk about a woman being crazy. I liked it a lot but hated the ending. I get the media influence arching over in some spots. I was looking for a more solid conclusion. I recommend it. To say it's long it just went by because the story and characters keep you invested.

I thought it was cool as hell. It was fucked up, but that bitch was a evil genius. He got stuck. Couldn't make a move against her or anything. They were both kind of fucked up though. They were made for eachother haha.

Caught this on netflix. About the childhood of an american boy during WW1 who eventually grows up to be a fascist leader in WW2 (they don't explicitly say who it is, but it's not Hitler). The dad works for president Wilson during the treaty of Versailles. The acts of the movie are broken up into "tantrums."

It was a really interesting concept. To me, there were no real standout parts where you could see "oh ok this is really a fascist in the making" lol until maybe the end...it was very subtle and understated and his childhood seemed kinda "normal" even. I wish I knew what leader they modeled the kid after...one of you history buffs might know.

Visually tho is where this movie stood out. Worth the watch for that alone.

Maybe benito moussiline? He was the fascist leader of Italy back in the ww2 days. The party felt like Italy was the heir to ancient Rome and they wanted expansion and to control the Mediterranean and a bunch of other shit

Koreans and Japanese make the BEST horror films. Just sucks trying to read the subtitles sometimes and miss something in the background of the scene haha.

Watched this on Netflix. Wasnt expecting much, but it was produced by Judd Apatow so i had to check it out. Ended up being much better than i thought it would be. Handful of moments that cracked me the fuck up. It looks like Samberg is playing a Justin Beiber type character, but hes more of a spoof on Macklemore than anything. Hes a rapper that started in a group, but the group broke up and he went solo and blew up. The movie is filmed Mockumentary Style and follows Sambergs character during the build up for his second album. The album doesnt do as well as expected and a bunch of stuff happens. If you smoke weed, get high for this one.

I read something and the writer/director said it wasn't him either. So idk...

But Robert Pattinson is in it too and his character takes a turn at the very end so I'm not sure...mussolini may be right actually...

Have not seen blue ruin. After Green Room though, I am watching Blue Ruin as soon as i get home. That Green Room movie blew me away. Its one of those movies you can only watch once though lol. Repeat viewings wont be as awesome. That first watch though.. Good god. Shit was intense.
