Why are there white people in this??

Joint american and chinese production.

I know but like.........why?? I know the answer is obviously money but it would just never cross my mind to have a white person as the star in a movie about the great Wall of China lmao. If there's any martial arts element in this at all, the movie woulda sold off that alone.

Just read about this yesterday some chick, Constance Wu, made a good point.

"If white actors are forgiven for their box office failures once in awhile then why aren't POC afforded one"

Matt Damon shouldn't be the lead but I'm not surprised. One of the writers for this also directed the Last Samurai.

The should get Don Cheadle to play The Last Viking.

the Last Samurai was a inspired by a true story and Ken Watanabe was the Last Samurai not Tom Cruise.

Constatance Wu has no basis for her arguement because most Chinese epics have starred an all Chinese or East asian cast and have been successful.

She a psuedo revolutionary.
