jay is 1 of my top 2 favorite rappers

i am a fan

anyway, this is why i say jay is "chess player" because to be successful in business (the music industry is a business) you have to make the right moves to maintain your success. and it's damn near impossible to be sucessful in business without playing the game correctly.you don't really know what jay, gates, winfrey, or obama had to do to get where they are. or game, wayne, nas, or any other rapper for that matter. but it seems like jay catches the most criticism on this board for what they think he's done to maintain success. and instead of debating about the music, people try and tear jay down for the same shit everyone else is doing.

it's not about sticking up for jay. i dont' know him personally so why would stick up for him? i'm just pointing out the hypocrisy. personally, i'm a fan of nas, kanye, and jay. i liked wayne pre-C3, not he latest stuff as much, but i will argue about any of their MUSIC. all this is other stuff is really pointless.

if someone made a whole thread about nas, kanye, or wayne being a "sucka" or "shook" and their only argument is based on some shit they can't even prove then i would make the same point. it just seems like these type of threads are always made about jay and not other rappers.

read my post again. i thought i made it clear that to be succesful in any business you have to make decisions that may hurt your competition. that's business. my point is that i don't see people on here criticizing rappers like kanye, wayne, & nas the same way they criticize jay-z. it's seems like people make arguments against jay-z focusing on these non-music related issues with him and not other rappers. you wanna debate the quality of music fine. but focusing on talking about his success as a fault just seems like hating to me.
