The forgotten round of Nas vs. Jay-Z: Blueprint 2 vs. Last Real N*gga Alive

Last real nigga alive was the ending of the battle whatever jay said after that was irrelavant because nas said nothing but real shit if jay-z would've dropped the blueprint 2 right after ether named it something else it would've been a much closer battle because superugly was overrated and jay got in his feelings

Blueprint 2 is a dope song, but it's weak as a diss for the following reasons:

1) it's basically a concession

2) it's not really addressing Nas, but more so speaks to the listener specifically those who sided w/ Nas. It's like he's trying to convince listeners that he won the battle

3) it sounds like he's desperate i.e. mentioning what he gave to charity

Still like the song though.

I don't really consider "Last Real N**** Alive" a diss either. It's basically a storytelling track with a couple of lines of directed at Jay. Nice imagery though with the final lines of the song.

"Last Real N**** Alive" gets my vote though.

Last Real N!gga Alive got my voted. I liked both of track but Jay-Z sounds a bitter on this track. Nas just telling a story and he's having fun with his track. I can listen to LRNA track over and over again unlike BP2 track.

Last real nigga alive was the nail in the coffin for the soul of jay z. It was a very deep, dark and daring diss record from nas that took it to another level besides insults and jokes like jay z used on bp2 and takeover. The first time I heard that "gift and the curse fuck that shit first shall be last" line I was pumping my fist on my car roof so hard geeked. Why nas do that mammal like that. The diss was cinematic. The content was truthful and logical and the execution was swift. What he want I already had. Nas went over niggas head with this track. Bp2 wasn't shit but jay z crying in lyrical form. I will ask you guys like I did when I joined the ic in 2009 HOW CAN YOU CHEAT IN A RAP BATTLE? When a nigga use a Austin powers catchphrase in a diss record you already know he lost. The thing I didn't understand about jay z is why he didn't he have south Philly motherfuckers on bp2. Not the murda Marcyville version I'm talking about the summer 2001 version where he went in at nas on 2 verses and beans dissing nas on the last verse. If spmf was on bp1 or bp2 the battle would of went a different route. Don't you know was also a dope nas diss from Jay Z that went low key. That Hov son across your belly and rewind your life with a shotgun blast are insane diss lines that jay z should of built on instead of crying on bp2. LRNA wins by a landslide

After jigga decapitated nasir on takeover it was over,he exhumed the body and merked him again on Bp2

Nasir had to write 2 WHOLE songs off 2 verses then wanted white people to help orchestrate a hangin of jigga like a step n fetch tap dancing coon

If u want to hang your opponent on stage(after hot 97 says u won) You lost it and you lost. That's some emotional rosewood shit

Smh @DummyStillNigger.

Your posts are no longer taken serious since getting bodied and clowned relentlessly in Donkey..people don't forget.

I thought you wasn't coming back to the IC and went to The-Coli? Backwards ass nigga..

BP2 exposed Nas for the hypocrite he is.

So true. All artists to a point are hypocrites.

Last Real Nigga Alive exposed Jay for the snake he is.

What snake, all he said during the song was Jay was Biggie's boy. Jay pointed out Nas repetitive contradictions and self righteousness. Why do you think Nas went to that old street disciple gimmick after the battle, because people would look at him as a hypocrite if he went back to Oochie Wally, Hate me now, You won't see me tonight, etc.

Nah, those few last lines of your post that you quoted only serve to highlight how much of a fan of Nas, Jay indeed was...Hov was Nas son, so much that he did a whole song of a Nas chorus (dead presidents), also in those lyrics jay spit also showed how much he rated nas's rewind track that he had to include in the diss, also highlight how much he studied Nas music and how much of a fan he was, and when Nas said this niggas want everything he already had....all lights were shut off there, niggaz want to always talk about Jay spitting fact s and etc, but nothing was realer than when NAs said that shit and shut was true, that line in itself when you take in mind jay's career path almost like it exposes the nigga, shit NAs was a big part of jay's blueprint to this rap shit!

Jay pointed out Nas repajdikja;jd;lafjlajfl;jal;jd....

Your post became nonsensical after that.

So the "old street disciple" was a gimmick? That's a stunning revelation...well not really.

The 2nd verse already covered it...

Rap became a version of Malcom and Martin

Rest In Peace Will, Queensbridge live on

There's some ghetto secrets I can't rhyme in this song

There's some missing pieces I had to leave out

Had lost trust for Steve Stoute at some point til I got to know him

We old friends, but what's loyal? Puff soaked Interscope offices

With champagne bottles on Steve, and Steve thought the drama's on me

Cause previously it would have been, against whoever

Friends forever

However, I learn, with some niggas it's all business

But I'm a street dude with morals

Then this nigga's with Jigga too much, he used to say Jay wanted my spot

I laughed, stayed home, never hung a lot

A quiet man who used to be alone planning

Baby moms thought I was too quiet, couldn't stand it

She hit the streets, later on she hitting the sheets

With a rapper who wanted me on his songs, thinking he strong

I taught her how to watch for cars who might follow

Taught her street shit that I know

Her weakness was shine yo

But that's her, I ain't mad baby, it made me stronger

Now I get my paper longer

Illmatic I was boss, It Was Written I flossed

One of the most creative LPs ever to hit stores

In the Firm I learned I Am NaStradamus

QB's Finest, Oochie Wally, faced more problems

I gave it all up so I can chill at home with mama

She was getting old and sick so I stayed beside her

We had the best times, she asked would I make more songs

I told her not til I see her health get more strong

In the middle of that, Jay tried to sneak attack

Assassinate my character, degrade my hood

Cause in order for him to be the Don, Nas had to go

The Gam-B-I-N-O rules I understood

What y'all want, see, I already had

The Gift and The Curse? Fuck that shit, the first shall be last

I'm the man's man, a rapper's rapper

G-O-D S-O-N, they'll be none after

I was Scarface, Jay was Manolo

It hurt me when I had to kill him and his whole squad for dolo

I find it hilarious that niggas really think Jay has a bigger stan following on this board than Nas.

The "Life Is Good" thread was unbearable because of the insane amount of stanning that was going on in there.

YO, sun really? Have you seen what has transpired in a couple of threads over these past days....Its so bad that I hoping its an act....If I check that LIG thread and see anything remotely close to what I've been seeing from Jay stans I'd call it out homey...You gotta admit though, this shit is unprecedented,,,Nas could very well have a larger stanbase, but nothing is topping what I've been seeing from a couple of Jay stans....Go through that ny rappers falling off thread and tell me if that shyt it disgusting.....like I said I'm hoping its an act

You wanna be me was dope so was marcyville 2 dont you know 1,2 ya'll the freestyle going at nas on hot 97 jay was coming for nas head every chance he got. Not to mention the roc boys too lol. Great battle. On topic tho I cant call it. It depends on my mood bp2 is a highlight of that double disc to me beat was dope and rhymes were on point. Godson was dope too I dunno man lol
