Harry is the true MVP. Wells killed it last night. Zoom's look is excellent. Maybe he's Barry, Eddie or even Wally. I wouldn't be surprised if they go away from the books on this one. Jay got sonned multiple times last night. I lol'd at his tears

They've gone away from the books a shitload of times. The important factor is that like other multiversal DC stories it keeps the fundamentals of a lot of the Flash mythos. It's about light hearted heroism contrasted with everyday drama. Barry was the best selling DC character in the silver age outside of Superman because of that reason and it's why Spider-Man after him also connected really well and so did Wally West.

The show stays true to that while offering their own take on the DC mythos. I highly doubt this will be Hunter Zolomon because it would imply that Joe's son is from Earth 2 which would be a big can of worms. It would be a version of Wally or it really could be anybody already established on the show or not a doppelganger at all. That's the beauty of it all it's unpredictable because not even the comic book fans can see where it's going. It's why every cliffhanger is so effective and keeps people coming back.

obviously they've gone away from the books since season 1, episode 1. My point is they still tried to use a variation of Thawne for RF when they could've used literally anyone. This Zoom may be a completely different take on the character.

I thought they were going the Bruce Timm route of alien lovers who settled in Ancient Egypt but are cursed to forever live and die together generation after generation, that way they can do an episode of Legends Of Tomorrow to fill out that backstory and actually show the period since Rip Hunter's a time traveller.
