Real niccaz luv the ghetto ....

the people that hate the ghetto are the rich folks

down to earth people live in the ghetto

snobby folk live in the upscale neighborhoods

they spend their time trying to discredit those from the ghetto and the hoods

the ghetto is peaceful it doesn't have to be dangerous

the slums is tore down but not always dangerous

now gang turn and sets, blocks etc that's dangerous

when i hear people wanting to leave those dangerous areas i understand

these days will all the assistance you can find a safer area if they wanted some like

the gangster territory and do what they doin ....

i live in a hood but i walk the streets where it's ghetto, slummy etc

im not rich i just grew up around the ghetto and lived there at times

i like it cuz people are down to earth ...i stay out of trouble tho

people assume the ghetto means drive bys, and gunshots but it don't

not every ghetto is dangerous but there are elements to the ghetto u can relate to even

if your not involved in the violent aspect ......

I disagree man the whole idea of a ghetto is supposedly some science experiment type shit. It just so happens that like many negatives introduced people were able to tragedy to triumph in a sense

If you from Hood rep where you're from.

If you're from the suburbs rep where you're from.

Why does the hood have to have a monopoly when it comes to talent in Hip-Hop?

Just be yourself.

The whole ghetto/street persona took off around 91/92. I remember Naughty By Nature had a song called Everything's Gonna Be Alright (the same song was called Ghetto Bastard on the LP). At the end of the song he said, "If you never been to the ghetto/don't ever come to the ghetto/cause you wouldn't understand the ghetto"

Between Biggie and Tupac the trend was rapping about growing up in a home with no father and rapping about the struggles of how they grew up.

That was the prevailing style until rappers started being feminine about 5-10 years ago.

Nowadays rappers wear dresses and dye their hair.

I think confusion is the new style.

PE, Tribe, De La, LL, KRS, Pharcyde, Outkast, Souls of Mischief, The Roots. There was plenty of folks out then who wasn't, as you said "rapping about growing up in a home with no father and rapping about the struggles of how they grew up".

You just mad your Wu Wear went out of style .... never was

Being from the hood is a badge of honor to people from the hood who make it out. If you’re from the hood and never make it out then you’re a failure, a casualty of circumstance, but a failure never the less.

Depend on the hood. If you made it out of Harlem, Bedstuy, DC, etc you lost because you most likely can't afford to make it back.

that's the problem with Hip Hop right there

that mentality got people jacking for chains

Robbin causing casualties

going bankrupt and re-possession

getting rappers killed

trying to live up to the lifestyle of some delusional loser on the internet talking out his azz

most of the people with that mentality have a 2 bedroom in a upscale apartment

2005 BMW that sell shit online and think they are rich

they live vicariously through their favorite rappers lives .........

taking 360 deals ,borrow from the label just to flaunt like they live that lifestyle

but when the singles don't move they have to pay back that interest

and end up worse then the independent artist

It has never been cool to be broke and that's what the "ghetto" is. It isn't people who are more real than the rest of society. Being a rapper who came from nothing is inspirational to a lot of people so I don't know how that's gone out of style since every new rapper talks about it.

see but we as fans should have an open mind to supporting different levels of success

cuz if everybody only supports rich rappers then the execs control who we listen to

the hip hop is gonna get shittier and that's the state we in .......

somebody has to support the independents ... that keeps the quality of hip hop up ....

due to competition

but if we didn't support the independents and up and coming then the rappers that is already

successful will become more and more lazy and bring you trash to listen to and you will like it

you wonder why Wayne shit fell off ... success ... same with J-Z

They know their fans will by anything so why work as hard if they gonna buy it if you put in sub par effort

it's like u get a job and at first you bust your azz to impress the boss but after u been there 7 years

and you know what you can get away with u produce a lil less everytime cuz u gonna get paid the same

it's natural to get lazy, lackadaisical shit like that ....

They make all these rules about broke niccaz but let's say a 2 chains get's signed or a 52 Savage they change their mind ...

Those niccaz was broke for a long time before they got this rap money.

My thing is let the underground have it's lane but the nature of competition is to bury your opponent

that's why if they do blow they monopolize and don't always collab with the competitor

like a Cardi B not wanting to collab with a Nikki .......
