With Gentrification, correct me if I'm wrong... These people don't own anything correct? They are just renting and being priced out of their homes?

So if I'm renting out a condo for $1500 a month, but the next tenant is willing to pay $4000 or willing to buy of from me for $500K. I sell, for $500K. The original tenant is priced out of the home I OWN.

Its a fucked up game. A person can own their house for generations but if you can't pay the property tax increase you either have to move or lose the house.

I have seen it and been personally hurt by the shit as well.

The shit is so fucked up because you got grandparents and parents who fought and lived through jim crow and shit like that who worked so hard to own a home. Pass the house down to their kids or grandkids just to have them lose the fucking house cause they junkies, in and out of jail, ain't shit or didn't know they had to pay property taxes. Then get hit with back owed property tax bill that is a couple of thousand and can't pay it so now they take short money and sale the house or just flat out lose it cause they never even respond to tax notice.

Man you just said a mouthful in this post. A lot of people to busy kicking it and hanging out to maintain a house and they get the quick money from the sale and they spend that up quick so they still losing. I have a friend whose mother has a nice brick bungalow but she says if she passes she will sale the house because she don't want the responsibility because she likes to smoke weed and hang out to much. SMH and she lives in a Chicago bungalow district where they take care of them for you outside of your own maintenance, Shit is sad man

my auntie n uncle stays on a nice ass block...they have a damn college professor on the bloxk n several other decorated folks. .....but jus ONE household has the whole block wild. old ass lady who owns the house, wild her wild ass ofspring fuckin shit up. hypes posted outside, trash everywhere. ..stashin dope in niggas shit. luckily no shootings....we all kno once she pass they aint holdin on to that house too much longer

We need to create our business. Instead of buying clothes, liquor and tricking off on hoes we create our own and hire our own where the money stays in the community then they cant' do shit to us
