The Dynasty, Black Album & AG Are Better Albums Than Blueprint - Agree or disagree, & why?

BA and AG are debatable

the dynasty tho? naw. its not better than bp. i put dynasty in the same category with vol. 3, vol. 2.it had its share of dope songs but it also had songs that i just couldnt fuck with

blueprint, black album, american gangster, and reasonable doubt are his best albums imo, hands down

the rest of his albums have their fair share of great, okay, and weak songs

the dynasty is one of those albums

BP is his best album imo aside from Life and Times Vol. 3

I based my opinion strictly on the music, If I can play a CD straight through then there's not much too think about.

I disagree mainly because of the impact those albums had. If you listen to Dynasty today, its still a cool album but it sounds very 2000-ish, with the Neptunes sound and all that. The Black Album didnt age well neither, tracks like Change Clothes, , Justify or Threat are cool but they sound dated today. I dont know why I made two commas in the last sentence but Imma keep it like that.

Now Blueprint beats those two cause of the impeccable production alone. Them soul samples were classic in 01, they are still classic today. Jay being on his A-game lyric and flow wise didnt hurt neither. Its too many classic joints on that joint.

I think those soul layered beats on the album were a change from the production on his previous joints and it sounded like an album not necessarily made for radio at least to me. ..

That might be just your opinion tho. Cuz why can't BP's production sound outdated? Like i said that style of production had already been done before & after that album. Disagree with him being on his a-game lyrically. Flow wise? Maybe. Not lyrically tho. No way. I think his song-writing got upgraded on that album but that was pretty much it.

Btw i think RD & In My Lifetime are better too but i was just counting albums that came out after BP's release.

Right, which was the #3 reason in my list why i said people rate it so highly. I agree.

I always thought that BA was overrated and AG was underrated.

I really think AG is my second favorite album from Jay after RD. Aside from Hello Brooklyn a.k.a. Hello Recycle Bin, AG flowed better than any of his previous projects, sans RD.

BP is a really close third though.

The production, the lyricism, the topics, the concept etc it was just a great album.

Jay was less lyrical on BP but that doesn't take away that he had good music on the album

The blueprint is damn near flawless, the sound is soo crisp and clean feeling, with only 1 song i skip everytime and thats girls, girls, girls, not a fan of that song....not really sure how the eminem feature is a bad thing? considering jayz has done songs with memphis bleek and beanie siegel who aren't even close to the talent of em

AG is good but it's not near a classic, it's a solid album and probably his best album since the blueprint, blueprint and reasonable doubt are the best jayz has and AG just doesn't compare to that

as for dynasty and black album...they both have their spots, but black album is waayyy to commercial to be considered great

#1 No. The Blueprint is far from damn near flawless. Also, again, you're talking about the production which proves what i pointed out. & i think the production was good but so crisp & as good as you're making it? No way. Crisp is more like "Doggystyle", "2001" & albums like that.

imo blueprint is right there with 2001 and pretty close to doggystyle

your talking about the right black album right? the album with change clothes, 99 problems, dirt off your shoulder, what more can i say? go back and relisten, the black album doesn't even compare to how smooth jayz was on blueprint

black album was just a really good business move to create attention for retirement to sell records but the album itself is pretty lame besides a few good songs

Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint are his best albums. People don't overrate Blueprint for the reasons you listed above. It was easily Jay's most cohesive piece of work start to finish. Izzo, Girls, Song Cry were all big hits that actually had great lyrics

As an entire package I personally put The Black Album over The Blueprint. Production wise, The Blueprint is way better, BUT...still in his top three along with Reasonable Doubt.

For American Gangster, I cannot rate that album as one his best work simply because I felt it was unoriginal, an easy attempt to squeeze out an album, not much thought put in it. I dunno yall may disagree, cool... just how I feel tho.

blueprint is not his best lyrically but the cohesiveness of the album is top notch and its just smooth overall and it does not sound outdated its a real classic
