I'll have to completely divorce myself from the books before seeing this. Dope trailer for what could be a dope movie but it's so far removed from the books from what I can see. I knew the actual series would never be made into movies, outside of the far off chance that some anime company took up the task, so I'll take what I can get and try to judge it on its own merits.

Muthafucka watch the movie first then you can give this opinion. Smh. Yall niggas soundin like IGN in here

The trailer looks absolutely nothing like the books. It's understandable why fans of the book would even second guess spending money on this or viewing it as a companion piece. Quit catching feelings. People in here have complained about more minute shit and that poster is still open minded about seeing what this is on it's own terms.

Not catchin feelings but how can u judge an entire film by only a couple minutes of a trailer? I tell ya some of yall are too quick to criticize the shit and then wanna switch tones when the movie drops and its dope. Be patient. See the film then talk.

A trailer sells what the movie is. It informs a potential audience member enough to know whether they want to spend money on it or not. So that argument never really holds water.

Thats different. You cannot critique a film based off a trailer. Only valid point you can state is the trailer was wack so im not seeing it. Thats all.

So dismissing a movie off of the opinion that "the trailer was wack" is ok but making the observation that, from the trailer, this movie looks nothing like the books isn't? That's deep.

Yes. How is it with all the books dark tower has that u can critique the film without seeing it? Thats alot of material to cover.

Man, this shit wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be. Just got back from seeing it, 3/5.

This is coming from someone that doesn't know anything about the books or backstory before going to see it.

How you gonna make a movie out of something that was like 8 damn books and make it 90 minutes long.

Go and watch it man

Call me easily influenced but I'm not gonna pay to go see a movie in the theater that has a 16% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I'll wait for DVD...maybe.

They are clearly setting this up for its own universe. As long as it makes a decent amount of money the rest of the story will be told in further movies and an already confirmed TV show.

I liked it and have read every book. Going into it, I never expected it to cover the entire story and I also read King's comments that it was the next chapter in the story from the books.

Scarface was first panned by critics by and large when it first came out. They said it was Pacino's worst movie.

And I'm of the mind Scarface is one of the most overrated movies of all-time it picked up steam mainly because Brad Jordan changed his rap name from Akshon to Scarface and other rappers started hailing it as the greatest movie of all-time like when Diddy said he watches it every day, then the poster started popping up in every dorm room across America, then everyone had to have a Scarface T-shirt...hell I've seen hideous Scarface button ups that people still wear for some reason.

Carlito's Way>>>Scarface
