So my boy is currently producing a movie and he has somehow managed to get close and personal with Mr Nolan (amongst many other big name producers/actors), getting pointers/tips etc....it may well be lies on his behalf and he is just tryna hype himself up, like he may never have spoken to C.N. but a strong part of me believes him....also this may have already been run around the rumour mill/well known to comic book readers, i dno, im not in the movie/comic book scene like that. anyway what he said Nolan said to him was :

there are two possible endings to this film:
1) Batman dies
2) or as Vader ses Bane will break batmans back

what an awesome story if either are true....im tired of the hero always coming out victorious...though out of all the heros to die/lose id rather it wernet batman

I highly doubt they kill batman specially in a movie, the back breaking sounds dope tho, but that means he either gets it broken in the beginning to mid of the movie with some robin/nightwing/azreal character (the last i highly doubt) being in the movie or he gets his back broke at the end which means another movie

it looks to me like Gordon is the one who gets his back broken. Seeing one of his closest friends hurt may lead batman to retire out of shame (happened in both the cartoon and the comic) maybe to settle down with Selena Kyle?

then again, from the poster, i got the notion that batman is a symbol of hope and light through the destruction. Probably the movie ends with him being seen as a hero to Gotham again (not like the fugitive he was when DK ended)

I think the story would end beautifully either way...

However, I think it would be cool if he died. I'm sick of seeing superheros coming out on top everytime. It's unrealistic...

Most sensible option. Nolan has not stuck to the books, so having Bane break Gordon's back instead is a nice movie level cop out to avoid a retread of Batman getting into fighting form a la Batman Begins.
