Real ass post. If you was from the hood that sneaker logo looks real familiar. I had like 3 beepers before I was even in high school lol.

I had the Ellesse 1990 Peru's.

just like these except the leather was textured and there was a "1990" etched into the side. Me and the crew were out at Northland Mall, we spotted 'em and I had just got my lil Hardee's paycheck and I had to have 'em. Went back to school on Monday stylin' on 'em.

Being real, I think the Adidas Forum was the best basketball shoe for actually playing basketball in. You could stop on a dime with those on.

My boy had these (Nike Revolution) and swore by 'em for hoopin'.

^^^ You couldn't play not na'an sport in Gucci tennis shoes. Those joints were strictly for show for $250 in the 80's.

You couldn't even walk in the door at King High School in Detroit without a pair of Borg Diadora's on.

That whole era of pro blackness influencing fashion was dope as fuck.

Couldn't find me without these on when I was 10 and 11 back in '93 and '94

True story, some time my senior year these two cats were arguing between classes and the shit was about to be a fight. Right before the school cop got to the scene some cat stepped in the middle of it and yelled at both dudes like "YO! See these medallions we got on? This shit means something! We ain't supposed to be fightin over no dumb shit y'all! We brotha's out her y'all! Squash that shit now!" That shit actually stopped the fight. The two cats hugged it out, apologized, and deaded that whole shit. Cop rolled up like "what's goin on" and dude with the speech was like "nothing, it's cool". Even the teachers were talking about that shit for weeks after that.

My stepfather SWORE Beta was gonna make a comeback. FInally, sometime in '89 my moms forced him to get a VHS machine so we didn't have to roll to Ferndale to the one spot in all of Metro Detroit that had rentals on Betamax.

Can't front tho, Beta looked far better than VHS ever did.

Magnum P.I. was like my white TV uncle. Never missed his shenanigans. In the spirit of those old action shows shout out to Hunter and The Equalizer.

I will never forget that my sister warmed up her burger in this shit and put it at what she thought was 6 seconds, but it was minutes. She let it cook that whole time without a thought and it was hard as a rock. I was in tears from laughing so hard and she was in tears bc she was sad.
