Friend of mines brother is in the marines, they were treating fools over there like it was hunting deer, he brought back all these pics of him and his squad posing next to bodies, putting their fingers in bullet wounds, Lifting the head so you can see the face. Thumbs up and smiles next to this tore up body.

Maybe it is the realization that many of these service men/women know they are fighting and killing for an unrighteous cause that has led to an unprecedented rise in mental illness in the military. The scale of carnage and death in Iraq and Afghanistan are dwarfed in comparison to many wars in the past. Soldiers back then knew they were or at least were led to believe they were fighting to end tyranny.

Yeah thats pretty much how it was with my friend, he say most of them ended up developed these fucked up sense of humor for obvious reasons. Another one of my homies would just start spacing out of in the middle of conversations cause he would get real nervous around a bunch of people. Talking bout having to kill kids, and kids will kill ya ass, and seeing his friends get blown up in front of him and all kinds of shit. He definitely had that dead stare in his eyes too

Man i played football with this kid in highschool and he was crazy as hell. he went to the psych ward for shootin at people with his 22 outside his house. he would purposely miss but it was always just to scare them he said. Anyway he gets out and first thing he does is join the military and went and did 2 tours now hes back always talking about how hes gettin drunk, then he will update his facebook with some angry shit (about his ex wife who cheated while he was away) and all that. Almost everyone i personally know that is in the military was a fuck up, always fighting for no reason and picking on somebody.
