They imploded horribly

Yea it was ugly 11 batters & 9 runs before they got the 1st out.Edwards then rondon had no command today.

But the brewers lost again so it don't matter no ground gained or lost.Pirates on fire right now tho

The Cubs are 7-1 since the All-Star break. That's tied with the Pirates for the best record in MLB in the second half (Pittsburgh plays at 8:10 ET tonight in Colorado). Cubs starting pitchers have a 2.16 ERA in 8 second-half games (had 4.66 ERA in first half of season).

B)

Todays game was good lester was perfect thru 7.Wainwright was shutting the cubs down. Then the 8th cards went up 2-0 on back to back hr's.Cubs came back in the bottom of the 8th took the lead 3-2 bryant scored from 1st on a bloop hit I thought he was gonna get thrown out. Then davis got the save not without some drama duke been shakey lately. It seem like damn near every cubs vs cards game goes like this. It's either a blow out a 1 run game.

on a random snowy december night

im gonna remember the moncada bunt call yesterday and light my christmas tree on fire out of anger

renteria asked moncada to sac bunt with 2 on and nobody out in the 6th up 2-0

UNREAL

https://twitter.com/SSS_pnoles/status/888033183522058244

make that 42 bunts

42 bunts in 90 games IN THE AMERICAN LEAGUE

shame

to make matter worse

its clearly part of the white sox strategy to bunt

which means they should be practicing it

AND THEY STILL SUCK

theres only ONE situation where i would bunt

down by one run

9th inning

runners on 1st or 2nd

no outs

when else?

never

id even hesitate in the one i outlined

i hope renteria isnt here when shit starts to matter

Schwarber for blake snell makes sense for both teams.Close in age and both buy low candidates(trade should be considered this winter if not this deadline)

cubs get another cost controlled starter, rays get a dh/power hitter

Got mad love for schwarber but there's no reason happ and almora should be on the bench cuz of him

im ready to embrace the idea that happ could end up being a better hitter than imagined

like the power has been great but when you see him go the opposite way like he has

hes just way more polished than i expected

My dog comin for that #1 Catcher spot.Just gotta frame pitches better and reduce the errors

Contreras is in that bryant and Rizzo untouchable territory.Love watching contreras (baez too) play

I guess paul dejong and tommy phamm are the latest obscure cardinal players that come out of nowhere and get timely hits/hr's and become mad annoying, joining grichuk and piscotty as previous players who did the same.

This shit is ridiculous.

solid effort by quintana when he clearly wasnt at his best and never quite found his groove

thats what he does when he doesnt have to worry about trade rumors

he will always give you a quality start

both kershaw and strasburg had to leave their games after two innings

i read kershaw was because of back tightness

he missed a chunk of the season last year with a herniated disk so this may be a recurrence of that injury

strasburg was pulled for precautionary reasons and reevaluated in the coming days

so

astros with keuchel

dodgers with kershaw

nats with strasburg

those 3 teams have such huge leads that nobody in their divisions will threaten them so each should take time bringing their pitchers back as october will be what matters for those 3 teams

The Red Sox called up top prospect Rafael Devers from Triple- A Pawtucket following Sunday’s 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced after the game. Devers will join the Red Sox on Monday before their game against the Seattle Mariners and will start at third base Tuesday night, manager John Farrell told the media.
http://nesn.com/2017/07/red-sox-call-up-top-prospect-rafael-devers-from-triple-a-pawtucket/

devers is only 20 years old and his glove needs some work but hes hit the shit out of the baseball on every level professionally

.288 with 11 home runs in low A at age 18

282 with 11 home runs in high A at 19

.300 with 18 home runs in double A at 20

and just finished an 8 game stint in triple A in which he hit .355/.412/.581/.992

dude has progressed every time they promote him so while i dont expect him to instantly start hitting .300 in the bigs i also dont expect him to hover around the mendoza Line

he has all the tools to be a very useful player in the pennant race
