The Brewers are the surprise leaders of the National League Central as the All-Star break approaches, and Jon Morosi of MLB.com writes that they’ve begun doing “background work” on White Sox lefty Jose Quintana and Athletics righty Sonny Gray in advance of the non-waiver trade deadline.

I always felt teams should be more covert about players they are interested in. Never let ya enemy know what you are thinking. That would be a good look for them tho.

i never knew baseball had a skills challenge during their all star games in the 80s

they used to do outfield throws into a net like in those tom emanski drills

catchers throwing down to 2B

etc

the HR derby was the finale from the whole skills day

the last one was in 89 and it was because barry larkin blew out his elbow on the relay throw competition

i dont know if thats the reason why it was cancelled but i imagine it was

smh

i would love to see them bring it back

brewers rotation could use Q

nelson having a breakout year but guerra has been bad this year and garza is garza who is also set to become a fa

quintana also has enough team control to fit into their next window

ray played in the roseland and jackie robinson west little leagues

the summer after his sophomore year at simeon

from the white sox ACE (amateur city elite) program

i gotta say

nice job by the white sox yesterday

they really hunkered down after giving up that tenth run and didnt give up another

thats what you like to see
