yeah montero has looked bad lately

looks old and slow while making bad decisions on top of it and if the rumor that ross may have gotten a concussion is true

contreras may be getting some pretty regular playing time

at the least i expect 1 start per week and a good deal of pinch hit opportunities

and its very early but almora has made a lot of strides in the past year and a half -- looks really good -- much more ready for mlb than i would have thought given some limitations i been hearing about him

I think he'll be like a defensive sub pinch hit in the 6th-7th and catch the relievers to close games where 1-2 runs may be the difference cuz he can block pitches and control opponents run game + strop, rondon & grimm all throw a lot of breaking pitches especially strop & rondon wit their sliders. He's gonna start soon but this is how I think they'll use him right now.Montero cost the cubs that game the other day it's no coincidence contreras was called up the next day.

Yea almora actually been impressive even tho it's a small sample size 2 clutch hits already and some sick defense

almora bat is so quick through the top part of the zone it almost looks like hes swinging a whiffle ball bat -- there was one earlier this week that he turned around that looked almost weird because it was the type of pitch that no one squares up

95 MPH fastball up in the zone

and he ripped it for a double

i heard on the radio contreras stay could be short but if he picks up where he left off i can see him starting 5 games a week with ross catching the other two and montero serving as a lh bat off the bench or something

its an embarrassment of riches over there

I like almoras hustle too he plays hard

Yea I think it's gonna be like schwarber he was called up last year for 6 games vs the al then sent down then called back up for good a month later. They can afford to do this now cuz soler and la stella on the DL when they return almora either gonna go back down or coghlan or sczur gonna get waived.

It is an embarrassment of riches for real.Just wait til next year when schawrber & contreras playing everyday with almora in cf

thats what i was telling this dude i work with

theres no better time to be a cubs fan than right now and maybe has never been

they have the

best team

best manager

best front office

and their best players are all young guys

wtf

Contreras caught the bottom of the 9th grimm was oc and threw a couple wild pitches, contreras blocked the 1st one and the crowd was mega charged.I think he'll start next week

everyone was anointing carlos correa as the next trout/harper this offseason

not that they were all wrong

but they forgot about corey seager too

Shouts to the rangers for that comeback vs the cards yesterday.Down 3-0 in the 8th and won 4-3

Trevor rosenthal sucks this year we got these fools comin thru this week I hope we bury them and are up 13-14 games when it's over

Sht, trash ass team but we swept the Mets. Always good when we beat them bums. Felt like we was back in the Chipper Jones days
