pretty impressive that ichiro is going to hit 3k hits despite debuting at age 27 and of the 3000 hit club wade boggs was the oldest to debut and get in (age 23)

pete rose best season was 230 hits

ichiro topped that 3 times with seasons of

both had 10 200 hit seasons

ichiro did it 10 straight times

his first 10 seasons in the majors

rose never did it more than 3 times in a row

i really think ichiro would be the all time mlb hits leader if he played his whole career in the bigs

chapman is on a very short list of relievers id give away an actual asset to acquire

Yea chapman is who I'd want the most cuz he's nasty I've seen it 1st hand for years from his reds days

But yankeee fans were talking about schwarber or baez they buggin chapman a free agent this winter.Only problem is his character issue,theo like them high character cats that's why I think miller is the target

damn i forgot he was a fa and rondon is proving himself to be elite as a closer so you have to let that play out

miller elite too and no problem being a set up man

i was a fan of the joe nathan signing

thats a low risk signing with a potentially huge reward

but youd still like to see the cubs go get at elast one more bullpen arm

preferably one more likely to pay off

Specifically a lefty they have none they can rely on besides travis wood cuz clayton richard sucks they need to hurry up and dfa duke.I hate when he comes in the game he hasn't got an out in a crucial situation since that milwaukee game weeks ago when the cubs used the whole roster

the cardinals have leapfrogged the pirates for 2nd place in the central

losing cole and cervelli is coming at a bad time for them

They got their 2 top pitching prospects to glasgow and taillon to help with losing cole.I think losing cervelii gonna seriously hurt them cuz he's out 4-6 weeks

right now pitt pitching sucks

taillon and glasnow will have to make specatcular debuts when they arrive after the super two deadline

Taiilon took a no hitter into the 7th tonight vs the mets he's been pretty good in his 1st 2 starts.I know the mets offense is trash but still.

it was defintely a sharp difference from his first appearance where he was probably nervous and while it was against a mets offense that is at a very low point similar to where the pirates pitching staff finds itself it was still impressive looking at the highlights

his fastball had some serious run/movement

one of them almost looked like a slider coming from a lefty except hes right handed

Yea I can see a 10-12 strikeout day if he has command.Cubs feast on pitchers who can't throw strikes but the ones that do and are nasty usually have the cubs struggling the 1st 2x through the order

for a stretch there the cubs were leading the league is screwing their closers out of save opportunities in the 8th/9th inning

the fight to see who gets the 1st pick of the 2017 draft has heated up

as atlanta has come from ahead to seize the worst record honors from the twins

while minnesota managed a respectable 5-7 record in their last 12 games the braves showed what they are made up by stepping up and dropping 10 of their last 12

the braves also have grabbed the worst run differential lead away from the reds and now sit at -113 runs to - 101 for the twins and -96 for cincinnati

The cubs have had a rotating automatic out in the line up at the catcher position all season.Ross had a spark when he started then reality set in real quick,montero been strugglin and federowicz Sucks,contreras is a better hitter than any of them.I'm hyped cuz baez,bryant and contreras are the 3 cubs prospects I've kept tabs on the most since they were in low levels of the minors now all 3 are up.Theo values defense and saving runs which is why he traded nomar garciaparra for orlando cabrera when he was in boston.I think contreras will catch hammel or hendricks and come in games late for defense and be eased into his role montero has become a liability defensively he allowed 2 runs yesterday cuz he can't throw out anybody and he been struggling to block pitches.
