yeah that was huge win last night

it was even better than a blow out

what a crushing loss for milwaukee

i think that pretty much does it for the division

now if the cubs go 5-5

the cardinals have to go 10-0 and the brewers have to go 9-0

gotta stop using wilson unless cubs are up big or down big though

he cant throw any secondary for a strike and while his FB is good its not good enough to survive by itself

Joe be buggin bringin duke in period, and he brought him in a high leverage situation?!? I was on 10 I was like no not wilson not now please no

He's been terrible on the cubs absolutely terrible, like duke forgot how to pitch the minute he got traded. The cubs bullpen another reason why I have low expectations for them this year. This team been inconsistent in phases starting pitching(lester been trash since coming off the dl),offense now the bullpen.

Baez & bryant were clutch tho I was hyped when baez got that hit cuz everybody thought he was about to strike out, he locks in with 2 strikes and shortens his swing.Bryant crushed that hr and he needed that cuz he hasn't come through in clutch situations.I also thought happ was out by a millimeter looked like jefferies spikes got to the bag a millisecond before happs.

Arrieta looked real sharp tho that was good. That ump was terrible tho he literally was calling strikes in the box balls

that AB by russell was not good

after getting happ on and a questionable review youve got to have a better AB

avila did a great job of moving happ over though

and yeah cubs really need another reliable reliever to step up -- they dont have better options which is why they keep trying grimm and wilson in big spots — its almost to the point that do you give that maples guy a high leverage spot in the next few days lol but joe cant go with wilson anymore -- just goes to show theres a big difference pitching for a first place team than a tigers team that been out of playoff contention cause i thought it was a good move trading for him

is it just me or does it not feel safer having wade davis out there this year than chapman last year?

i mean you gotta be grateful for what chapman brought but his spells of control loss and batting practice location would have drove me crazy

theo gotta try and bring him back

sale better hope they dont face an a.l central team in the playoffs

his career record against the a.l central is like 29-29 or some shit with an era over 4

im excited to see sale in the playoffs though

i can't even front when grimm was comin down the steps to come in the game I was like

this can't be life, but he got out that jam.

Yea I agree but I think they just brought maples up as a reward for his breakout season cuz he hasn't really pitched that much & I think this is a career high in innings for him this season so i don't know how much he'll be used down the stretch.Maples has the same issues as edwards where he's nasty, but he'll lose all command and walk cats.Next year he should definitely be in the bullpen cuz that slider is a strikeout pitch

yup even tho I prefer not too theo should probably re-sign davis

ponying up a lot of money for aging closer isnt something i would want to do either

hes been their most consistent player all season though

best case scenario

2 years for 30 million or whatever it takes (with a team option)

cubs can basically end the division race this weekend

time for them to finally show that killer instinct

Rockies need to get it together they slumpin at the wrong time & it's a losing streak to the giants & padres at that

brewers 1 game & the jason never die can't get away no matter how fast you run cards 1.5 back.Mf's won't go away

Jeter is coldblooded lol

Derek Jeter doesn’t even own the Marlins yet, but he already has informed the team that he plans to fire two special assistants who are in Baseball’s Hall of Fame (Andre Dawson and Tony Perez), the manager who led them to the 2003 World Series championship (Jack McKeon) and the player known as Mr. Marlin (Jeff Conine), according to two MLB sources.

And here’s the twist: Jeter asked Marlins president David Samson to fire those four Marlins luminaries for him, because Jeter didn’t want to do it.

Even more strange: Jeter made the request after telling Samson what he already knew: that Samson would not be returning as team president.

Dawson, Perez, McKeon and Conine all have been serving as special assistants to Samson or owner Jeffrey Loria.

Cruz hit us with a walk-off 2-run-HR for the Mariners and they beat us 3-1. Honestly didn't expect us to sweep the Mariners, but we will take the last 2 games in this series.

Another thriller last night.Brewers not about that contending life they make too many mental mistakes knebel walked la stella with the bases loaded he was scared to throw him a strike.

then whatever duke name is wit the glasses came off the bag and russell got him.Thank goodness cuz edwards was looking shaky now the cards in 2nd smdh

Davis just blew the save, he been shaky af for about 2 months straight up dodged some bullets better now than in the postseason.

this deserves the commissioners attention

looks like it was intentional

the tigers are tanking as fast as they can — they are an abysmal 4-19 in september despite having had/have by far the easiest schedule in september of all mlb — im gonna be sick if detroit kicks chicago to the back of the line after tanking for just two months — the white sox have been tanking since december and now they might not even finish last in their own division

rockies shutout for the 3rd time in 4 games at the hands of the giants and padres

wow

what a world it is in baseball when the rockies starting pitching is actually NOT the reason for their recent struggles

those extra inning and late losses milwaukee had going into today are going to ultimately come back to cost them though

Can't even front quintana dealin today, do this in the playoffs and I'll never say another bad thing about the guy

cards losin too today could be a good day

2.5 back of Cle with 7 to play I think they got that sewed up. Main job now is to stay ahead of Boston they only 4 back and we got a 4 game set with them to end the season.

We host the Twins for 3 games starting tomorrow night. Two wins away from 100 for the first time since '95 and 1 game back from the Dodgers for best record in the Majors.
