James shields white sox debut starting off seamlessly :#

they had an opening for an overpaid declining pitchers whos barely usable

danks left a hole that needed to be filled

there was so much naivete and too much optimism in many peoples analysis of that trade

Yea shields era away from petco is a run higher, his velocity is dropping and now he's in a hitters park in the AL for half his starts, duke gave up a hr to BARTOLO COLON this year.At least they didn't give up any top prospects

that was him

shit

lmao

would still rather have tatis but whatever

padres took the biggest L

they lost their 13th pick last year to sign big game james and now theyre paying him 31 million to pitch for another team

Willson Contreras has a .343 average with nine homers, 39 RBI,.436 OBP and a 1.026 OPS through 48 games in Triple A

This will be similar to when schwarber was called up last season contreras gonna provide that spark unlike ross and montero this kid can hit AND unlike montero can gun out runners.Only concern is he don't have any experience wit the pitching staff so you don't want to potentially mess up chemistry.I don't know if almora will stay up for the rest of the season but if he can the cubs defense gonna be a problem and unlike last year vs the mets there will be no liabilities out there late in games.

and thats definitely a huge concern

catchers take longer to develop than other position players

he might be raking but you know catchers need to know how to effectively call a game first and foremost

i cant wait to see him in the bigs though

hopefully corey ray will be putting a white sox hat on today

the white sox made a commitment to making baseball more accesible on the south side

equipment

facilities

coaches

etc

their ACE program has had a huge impact on kids lives and the community and it would be real cool if they got to reap the benefits

hed be great pick even without the ACE connect

atlanta is 50/50 on him at 3 but i dont see how he gets past milwaukee at 5 (hes been linked to them everywhere)

could be interesting if he does

This and the pitch framing are the only things they want him to keep working on,maddon said he'll be up this year he just don't know when

No doubt.Next year he's gonna be the starting catcher(or platooning wit montero) and schwarber will be back too.

given what jed and theo have done with the team overall you just gotta trust their judgement with contreras

if they decide to bring him up next week

cool

if its september call ups

thats cool too

none of these moves matter as long as robin is the manager

i dont want to even think about him trying to navigate this team in a division chase in september

he has the worst grasp of critical situations than anyone ever

i hate him

the fact that his terrible decision making hasnt changed in 4 years tells me that either no one in the organization disagrees with it

or

no one is saying anything

typical of a reinsdorf team though

he wants guys who hes friends with

not people who can actually run an organization successfully

That gif hilarious, both of em on 1st descalso saying " Hey hey hey" like I got it get da fuck outta here and then lemahiu catches the ball and tries to hand it to him while the runner is safe while they both standing there looking dumb

stanton has really forgtten how to hit

hes killing me

he started well enough in april but his performance rolled off the table in may and has been plummeting since

ops by month

april: .944

may: .620

june: .389

.389

wtf

he is 3 for 24 in june

2 singles and a double

his career strikeout rate was 28%

this year it has jumped to 34%

he is being pitched to with the same percentage of

fastballs

breaking pitches

change ups

so it isnt as though the league pitchers all suddenly discovered a weakness

i wonder if he still experiences blurred vision from his concussions because dan uggla had trouble seeing the ball after his concussions in his final years which he unfortunately never recovered from

some say the same with joe mauer
