The cubs are about to start a playoff game in 45 mins.

Don't know why people(locally) are hyped about roark starting. He shut the cubs down at wrigley in august and is the exact type of pitcher who can end up throwing 6-7 innings of 3 hit 1 run ball.

I think bryant is the only cubs player who hits him good.Stack the line up with lefties and hopefully play better than they did monday ,the cubs were way too sloppy on defense and base running they made like 5-6 mistakes that game.

it looks like the public shaming of strasburg has led to a miraculous recovery

i remember reading an article from espn magazine years back when boras was very influential in strasburg limited innings

supposedly strasburg at the very least is very much creature of habit

at worst psychologically fragile

the littlest things throw him off

in this case it could be hes used to throwing a bullpen session off the mound two days before his next start and he didnt throw a bullpen monday to prepare for a start today but thats all speculative on my part

i have to say that im surprised that the yankees after that awful game 2 loss have evened up the series

granted it was at home and the yankees are starting to get a big time home field advantage at the new stadium — i read its getting as loud as the old one and that can be intimidating for opposing players — that being said they have not been a good road team this year and they are going to have to beat kluber again who will likely pitch much better than he did in game 2

as it has been noted kluber is way better on normal rest than short or longer rest which is supposedly why tito set up the rotation like he did

one positive for game 5 from the yankees standpoint though

they will have a fully rested

robertson

green

chapman

in the bullpen and sonny gray available as a long man

that is huge that they didnt have to use those guys in game 4

Been hearing a lot of comparisons of the old & new stadium lately which is odd considering they won a title the first year in the new stadium.

These Yankees are totally different than those of the past. You (well if you are a yankee fan like myself living in the city) can sense that this is the start of a new era. The city starting to embrace this group. They weren't even suppose to make it this far so they have nothing to lose really. Fully rested bullpen & big game CC pitching. I don't expect them to knock around Kluber but I think they are battle tested enough to win this game. They've already outplayed believeland the entire way. I don't see anything changing.

im along this line of thinking

i said cubs in 4 and im gonna stick with that

seems to me strasburg has basically been shamed into starting and he doesnt seem to have the best mental make up so i think the cubs can get to him early and he will start to fall apart because there is a lot of preparation that goes into pitching and he hasnt really been planning on pitching today and he simply isnt the same pitcher when anything is even remotely off

and if it turns out he really is sick?

i dont see how that works out any better for him

yankees finally have good homegrown players that you can feel invested in

credit cashman changing his team building style (likely due to ownership)

there was an article before the season started about how cashman has wanted to do a hard reset for the longest but i believe hal told him they cant completely kill it because they have

tv ratings

ticket sales

and other things to keep in mind

the starting pitching still needs some work but they are going to be good for a long time again

this is the yankees fourth straight elimination game and the indians have had ZERO games like that for a looooong time

yankees could be loose and indians could be tight

all i kmow is long time indian fans will be sick if cleveland cant hit cc

he could not close out in ’07 for them

they better make sure it stays that way in ’17

Sox Tv ratings were down 15% this year, I expect some fireworks I just don’t know what, starts with the manager they are talking about former players, but more than anything I think we need to make a move or moves similar to the 2012 Crawford/Beckett/AG trade and clean house a little bit, addition by subtraction

Pedroia isn’t going anywhere but he needs to go under the knife whether it means missing most of if not the whole year, he’s the captain but he’s not the leader, and I think he lost a lot of respect during that Machado incident and on that flight if it’s true he was an antagonist, his playoff performance was atrocious it was fitting that it ended with him striking out, to me I think it’s time to hand the reigns over and move on but after an operation and some time away he could come back on the other end the old Pedroia and really help the team

I hope Price gets traded but I doubt it’s an option because I doubt we would get any significant package in return

fox tv executives are gonna be crossing their fingers tonight

the red sox got knocked out

so i know they want the yankees to drive up those october ratings

russell gotta make that play

being down 1-0 today with strasburg and the weather

feels like being down 3-0 any other game

jake has lost all command at this point

i dont hold it against the ump at all for not giving him any close calls (aside from werth)

gotta take him out
