Yeah, "Racks" PLAYS on the radio, but it's obviously a strip club type song. Some with all those Travis Porter shits. The leaked "Work Out" vid was shot in a club, which song ("Racks") do you think would get a better response in that setting?

Racks would get a better response in that setting. But radio-wise, i still don't think Work Out is as bad as Racks, that's all i was trying to say.

Dude why do ya'll have this perception like Roc Nation expect dude to be a big seller, they signed Jay Electronica for god sakes, i don't think they are as focused on selling big like ya'll think. I think they are more focused on the touring aspect, and developing artist who have consistent fanbase and touring. Let YMCMR have the pop audience, that shit only last for so long before the pop audience taste change and jump to a new nigga.

I keep telling niggas the artists at RN prolly getting way more cake than they should be for someone at their levels. Live Nation about to have a monopoly on the live shows

These niggas perception of eating is fucked up, they assume being on radio and BET is considered eating. You eat from touring and branding, which is what Roc Nation focuses on. Live Nation has pretty much figured out the record label model is one step in the grave, record labels are gonna be only good for selling back catalog in a few years. These middle men (record stores, shipping, and distribution companies) are gonna be dead in a few years. The music business is moving to a independent model for the most part!

LMMFAO, I find it funny when net niggas think they so smart and are in these artist pocket. If their favorite artist aint doing nothing its "oh he touring making that show money" GTFOH. What tours is this nigga on? Must be selling out a lot of middle school gyms. Yall act like he headlining major tours across the country or something. Plus you have no idea how much he makes per show. There is a reason why artist try to get radio/video play. Its so that when they tour for one they will have something fans can connect to and want to hear and for two its so they can charge more for appearances. Yall on here making it seem like dude is getting $50K a show or something.

My boy who does promotion brought Kanye to town way before he blew up (and performed at an empty club). I doubt he got paid more than $10K for that show, its not like my boy was big time or nothign like that. My point is that artist that dont have a track record will tour and perform anywhere they can, but its not like they making big bank. And Cole is nowhere near the level of artist Kanye was at that time.

Umm live nation and ticketmaster merger was approved last year and they were the #1 and #2 ticket sellers on the market and Live Nation was the largest concert promoter in the market. They were forced to help their rivals out to even make it fair so I'm guessing they raping these niggas on the ticket prices and getting paid

Who the fuck is talking about how much he made per show, you're the only nigga doing that. Artist don't make no money off radio or video play, their record labels have to pay radio to even get on. If you want examples of artist with big singles and cant' sell albums for shit, look at Pitbull, Wacka, Flo RIdah, Travis Porter, and so on. A core fanbase will pay money to see a artist on tour, especially if they are a good performer.

You can't compare a unknown Kanye to J Cole at this stage of their careers, dude has been touring for two years straight off of a mixtape. Who else do you know that's doing that at major festivals, major tours,etc?

Opening up for people at a concert is not the same as headling a tour

People didn't go to the Rihhana Tour to see J Cole they went to see Rihanna
