First off I fuck with Drake. I decided to go back and listen to it front to back earlier being that it was the anniversary. Only song that still was in my rotation prior to today was Light Up. This was already my least favorite Drake album but I said since I haven't let it ride front to back in years let me do it today...
This is easily Drake's worst project to date Mixtapes and Albums imo. It sounds dated as fuck and soft as hell. Different than Take Care (which some call soft), which I feel is just more smooth rather than moist, soft, etc. Take Care was in a nice pocket. TML not so much for me. TML did have a nostalgic effect bringing me back to a dope summer but other than that majority of these songs are meh standing on it's own years later. Even songs I fucked with at the time have gotten worse going back. Light Up is still dope, Miss Me and Unforgettable was cool but outside that...
I remember in the If You're...It's to Late and/or NWTS threads people were calling each his worst pieces of work. I disagree & don't think it's close tbh. Both were exponentially better pieces of work. In fact IYRTITL gets better with time I bump it more now then when it first dropped.
