Not the biggest fan of his music but I hope he does have and extraordinary first week. It would be great to see a credible artist get the success, sales and accolades they deserve.

why none of these white artists have to take the backseat to promotion? fuck what beyonce and cole did. they have Jay Z behind them who known for doctoring first week numbers since the 90s. Taylor swift, gaga, eminem, and imagine faggots all white interscope artists get multi million dollar promo from jimmy. remember that awkward primetime eminem CFB interview that if a nigga pulled he would be blacklisted from earth, or that 25 million dollar flop from gaga that cost other people their jobs but the bitch kept hers or my all time favorites imagine faggots and shake it off being at every event during NBA allstar weekend. TDE need more than a strong fanbase to even 300k let alone a million. they should be blowing up Dre and Iovine phone about making this album an event if they talking about a million in one week. All the last hip hop million sellers had sometype of heavy buzz and major single to fallback on. Carter 3/4, Graduation, GRODT even Jay Z cheating ass with MCHG all had mainstream press through major news and entertainment networks at their release. I feel like a mid march release date is for a debut artist with no faith. There is no buzz about this album. I does not get spins on the radio anymore and he hasnt had a follow up to keep the masses outside his fanbase talking. How will this help push a million in one week. TDE need to get their heads out of their asses. this aint 2012 all of their overhyped artist flopped hard. soul flop, rashad flop, sza flop, schoolboy q flop that arrogance making these niggas belive they can sell a million when they not dealing with reality of situation.

Lmao your ability to make ANYTHING about jay is ridiculous

I just listened.

He'll be lucky to go gold first week. Not cause it aint dope. But it will go over heads leading to sheeple calling it wack.

Kendrick should be concerned about these comments. Should of dropped the album last Oct or nov riding the I and Ferguson wave. This Mar 23 shit sounds like some take it or leave it order from interscope. Kendrick is supposed to be a aftermath/interscope flagship artist and he really getting the Obie trice treatment. No promo or press about this album but unrealistic financial expectations.

Don't know why this is getting stomped out. He's right. Looking at around me, I haven't heard Kendrick's name mentioned since "Control." No type of hype. I remember cats running up during the first album just talking about him and his album.

I don't judge shit based off "internet" hyperbole. People are just not talking about this dude around me. How you just gonna place a million on his head? That's insane.

I just wanna say Intersvope did on purpose, rather, some cracker in the system, a lone gunner for the white survival tactic, (with administrative powe) forced the release early,

They could not allow a black empowering album be successful through a channel design to dumb down the masses.

Hence the 1mil sell is not likely

I feel what he was trying to do but his voice and the incomplete feeling with a lot of those tracks is a huge obstacle to getting into the lyrical content that I KNOW is there. I want to give him a play because I know he probably tried his best creatively and the game need that- but he doing too much. I like positive, thought-provoking shit but content and execution of that content are two different beasts entirely. Im going to force myself to listen again but first listen nothing really grabbed me positively. I wasn't moved at all. Allways like the level of lyricism but lyricism alone- even in a nutty abstract context-does not make good songs IMO

Hope the album is good. I really liked GKMC - was a breathe of fresh air and executed well. It's hard to live up to his debut.

If I was him I wouldn't worry about Drake comparison, they are two totally different artists plus Drake hasn't made an good album as of yet but he's figured out the radio/female formula though.
