This deal seems like it is much more than selling x amount of records and having x amount of hits. It seems like T.I. is selling himself and his label as a brand and not as an artist. He already has an offer from Sony for 50 mill according to the article. I don't see why people are acting like $75 million is far fetched when the deal isn't even exclusively about his music. T.I. has a hit television show and was the executive producer of a movie that went #1 the weekend it was released (Takers). On the music end, dude is clearing nearly 300K without a huge hit single or buzz in a climate in which 700-800K for most artists (not just rappers). No, he's not doing T.I. numbers, but like 3-4 rappers are doing Paper Trail numbers since Paper Trail. Only Eminem (Relapse, Recovery), Wayne (C4), Drake (Take Care), and Jay (BP3) have done it.
