Trap Muzik already damn near 10 years old. That's something niggas overlook.

Album was the blueprint for niggas like Jeezy, Gucci, Waka etc.

Do you think people other than fans of T.I. are going to be checking for this album in 10 more yrs?

Is it essential to own it in every hip-hop heads collection?

Would Jeezy, Gucci and Waka not all be the same rappers they are today?

The OP claimed that T.I. one of the best EVER...

Using the second definition there's only bout 5 classic albums in hip-hop history.

As far as if Trap Muzik will hold up another 10 years...is to diminish the fact that's already stood up 10. Not alot of albums are still good after so much time has passed.

I'm sure nobody thought Straight Outta Compton would still hold up all these years later. We have to stick around and see.

Now we're getting somewhere...

And to call T.I. one of the best is to diminish the better rappers who came before him...

Again he is a solid rapper with a solid discography...

But nowhere near "one of the best"

Again I don't see anyone disputing my claim that his 2 best albums are not even the 2 of the best albums released in their respective years...

I hardly see why that's a necessary standard. Multiple great albums in one year is problematic now?

I guess Death Certificate and Low End Theory both can't be great albums because they came out in the same year.

That's faulty logic.

I fucks with T.I., I wouldn't say he's one of the best rappers ever tho'

Makes me wonder wtf people are giving GOAT status to rappers for. Dude's punchlines are non existent. They arent the end all be all but if you can't even make any you dont get goat status imo.

No Punch lines? Niggas are reaching now.

56 Bars-

And what the game need with you nigga? They got me

I ride through the city, so clean, seat really low

Automo-bil-ey so, pretty but I'm illy though

No comparison, ain't a nigga mo', thorough than

This gangsta American flow, doper than heroin

King like Evelyn, Champagne mayne

So deranged and belligerent; right up there with Benjamin

I see the problem is nigga's think T.I. just do chick songs? They judging off singles and not really listening.

If there's anything you can say bout Tip it's not gonna be about his ability to rap, nigga is way too solid for that angle

@Jono

@icecoldstew

Of course there can be more than 1 great album released in 1 year that's asinine...

2003

The Black Album - Jay-Z

The Listening - Little Brother

Get Rich or Die Trying - 50 Cent

Shadows on the Sun - Brother Ali

The Ownerz - Gang Starr

Are all better albums than "Trap Muzik", are they in the classic talk?

2005

Late Registration - Kanye West

Tha Carter II - Lil Wayne (And I dislike him as a rapper/personality but can acknowledge this album as good)

BE - Common (Perhaps an actual classic)

The Minstrel Show - Little Brother (Again maybe another classic in the same year)

All better than "King"

To clear it up, I don't think T.I. is wack...I own 1 of the albums I am discussing and heard the other plenty, I like his music...

Just taking it too far but I guess it's all opinion?

Overrated. Great speaker and deep writer but he's not in my top 3 and I prefer biggie's discography personally

Never heard the bolded. The underline are bullshit.

Also king isnt even a great T.I. album. Is alright but hardly some of his best work. Urban Legend is better (much better than King).

You seem to be really reaching out here.

Underline is a matter of opinion or perhaps you have better taste in music at any rate you should give Brother Ali a spin...

I agree that "King" is not even his best work that I still give to "Trap Musik" but it is the album that launched him through the stratosphere commercially and would say it's a benchmark album...

What about the other 3 albums I listed for 2003, are they not better or am I reaching?

Black Album no doubt. The Listening was dope and GRODT was also dope.

Trap Muzik is definitely better than The Listening (IMO) and ive always thought GRODT was overrated but still better or on par with Trap Muzik.

Ok, fair enough...

Vice versa for me, prefer "The Listening" more than "Trap Muzik"

1 at least better and 1 on par...

So 3 classic hip-hop albums in 2003?
