This was an attempt at a coup to hi-jack Death Row they missed Suge and killed Pac and to get back in good graces Reggie Wright had Biggie killed. And had Suge sent to prison. Why would Reggie conveniently tell his bodyguards not carry weapons in an open carry state and not be equipped to defend the hottest rapper in the game at the time and the CEO of the biggest label of that era. But as soon as the meeting Suge called to get answers after the fact, Reggie then inform the bodyguards not to mention the fact that he told them not to carry weapons the night before. 500 million dollar company? based on what? i know you niggas have no sense of economics, but please tell me you no this retarded. you think in 1996 death row had grossed 500 million? look at all their releases, look at how many sold and think about what death row cut was after interscope and the retailers got their's and tell me you think that added up to 500 million? or even a 100 million? i'm talking the actual money death row generated and even put in future revenue potential, dre was gone.

I remember at the time Dr Dre left Death Row it was reported that Death Row was a $300 Million company. Dre took $30 million and bounced. People were saying that Dre was a fool and that Suge punked him. But in a matter of months Pac got shot and then Suge went to prison for that altercation at the casino and Death Row went from a $300 Million company to a ghost town.
I'm sure that Death Row could have done tours in the 49 states outside of New York and sold out 20K arenas. They were the biggest label in music at one point so $300 Million isn't unreasonable considering CD sales, concerts, t-shirts, hats, posters, etc. But there's a Big difference between being "worth $300 Million" and having $300 Million in liquid cash.
Having said that, I also remember when The Roc broke up there were rumors that Dame Dash walked away with $20 Million. So Dr Dre walking away with $30 Mil from Death Row doesn't seem unreasonable.
