Damn, you ain't like The Game beat? and I agree I liked the previous mix of So Far To Go. I thought I Want You was great work and the breakdown near the end was standout.

The Game was Ye trying way too hard to be Primo (who did the scratches). It was dirty and sloppy, which I like... but to the point it was bad. And something about Will I Am just rubs me the wrong way. But yeah, the breakkdown (which samples a Bob James record I heard a bajillion times) was nice. It's not as bad as I'm making it sound, but BE is leagues ahead of it.

You'll don't think that tracks like Love Is and Its Your World had more sophisticated concepts than the stuff on LR? Also putting the poetry interludes on The Corner was more clever than anything from LR.

I already established that them Dilla songs shit on every song on both those albums. If you listen to LR, Ye does stuff to the beats the samples couldn't do themselves. Diamonds Are Forever by Shirley Bassey is epic in itself, but the extra xylophones and horns added in Ye's version made it over the top. And the breakdown in Gone is fuckin ridiculous. That's just an example.

Yeah but you're only talking about the beats. What about all the other parts??

Late Registration. The production on Be was stellar, but Kanye blacked out when it came to the work behind the boards on Late Registration.
